The book that I read was Moo by Sharon Creech. The book was 278 pages long (it took me more than one month to read). If I were to rate this book 1-10 I would rate it a 9 because, it did not say where they lived before they moved to Maine. I do not really think there was a "purpose" for this book because it is about a cow and a 12 year old girl. In this book there is a wonderful family that moves to Maine, in the family there is a 12 year old girl, her little brother and her parents. While they live in Maine, Reena's parents make her work for their neighbor that has a cow with a very bad attitude. The "mood" I was reading was kind of a mixture of happy and weird because first of ll their neighbor has a cow, then the girl has to take of the cow and I found that kind of weird and funny at the same time. That was my second book talk of the month.

The book that I read was nine, ten: by Nora Raleigh Baskin. The book was 197 pages long. I think the authors purpose of the book was to teach people not to judge someone just by their looks, but try to get to know what they are going through. If I were to rate this book 1-10 I would rate it a 9 because, I feel like the book could be better if Sergio was not in it. To me Sergio was not needed in the book because, I did not understand his point of view throughout the book. The book nine, ten: was about four kids who did not know each other at all but through 9/11 their lives "intersect in ways they could never imagine" (nine, ten:). If I could meet any of them I would choose to meet Naheed and the questions I would ask would be, how did you deal with the looks people would give you for being Muslim, are you comfortable now with being Muslim, those are the only questions I could think of right now but that was my first February book.

For my April book talk, I read the called Runt by Nora Raleigh Baskin. This book had 194 pages. I had to rate this book 1-10 I would rate it a 2 because, it does not have any transitions onto the part of the book, for example, when Elizabeth was talking to her friend about the dentist it just randomly started talking about her farm, then how she doesn't beautiful. I do not feel like the author was trying to teach something because of how it talks about the farm and not a lot of kids can relate to that or learn from that. This book was about a girl named Elizabeth who lived on a farm and went to school with a bunch of mean and rude kids. The genre of the book is realistic fiction but it did not feel realistic to me at all!

My second book that I read for My April book talk was called Ellie's Story by:W. Bruce Cameron. This book had 188 pages. If I had to rate this book 1-10 I would rate it a 3/10 just because this book is not the type of books I enjoy reading and I do not not books about dogs that are not real. This book was about a dog named Ellie who was a search and rescue dog that could do it all from tracking down a lost child to saving someone who is about to be crushed by a falling building, but Ellie's owners needed her too. I feel like this book was not trying to reach anyone because of how Ellie acts in the book.
