This website lays out all the facts of credit cards. It lists the pros (getting cashback and rewards, buying something quickly) but also the cons (debt, hidden costs) of credit cards. It is not written specifically for families but applies to everyone. Its a very interesting article that is easy to understand and that I found very useful and will probably consult later on when I do decide to get a credit card.

This article is talking about how consumer debt is on the rise in Canada. Canadians are taking out larger loans and interest rates are getting higher. However this article says its nothing to worry about right now. Even though the consumer debt is rising peoples personal debt is falling. The article says that even though the debt rate is remaining steady that we should still be cautious with our money. Even though you may be comfortable with the bills you are paying now its important to have enough money that if interest rates rise that you can still make your payments easily. This is especially important for families that have many extra costs in their life.

Its important to keep conscious of how much you are spending on a credit card and if you can afford it. Its an article that families would find useful when debating on what credit card to get or just to answer some questions that they may have about their current credit card. I believe because this video is straight forward and easy to understand it would be valuable to anyone who doesn't know much about credit cards. I found it very useful and it taught me some good tips.
