Did you know that there is another road safety park, besides the one at East Coast Park?

Built in the 1990s, the Safety Traffic Park at Nanyang Neighbourhood Park comes with its own traffic lights, road signs and mockup bus stops. The park was popular with children who would take their tricycles out for a spin on the park's brick roads.

The traffic lights stopped operating around the early 2000s according to residents, and while the traffic signal visors are still there, all the lights have gone missing, presumably stolen. The park is yet to be refurbished, with its fading road signs, peeling paint on the bus stops, and graffitti here and there.

Interesting trivia: the National Arts Council has designated the park as one of the approved busking locations in Singapore, though residents we spoke to have never seen one (yet).

There are two Nanyang University (or Nantah) Archs in Singapore, one original and one replica. The original one stands at present-day Jurong West Street 93, while the replica arch is located inside the Yunnan Garden of Nanyang Technological University.In the old days, the cars and buses would pass through the original arch from the Old Upper Jurong Road to Nanyang University.
