The Good Doctor is an American TV series set at the prestigious San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital in Northern California. The story focuses on the young pediatric surgery resident Shaun Murphy, admitted to specialization despite being affected by autism and with the savant syndrome, thanks to the intervention of Aaron Glassman, who understood his genius years before,being his mentor since when the boy was a teenager with a tragic family history. Thus, the young surgeon leaves his hometown in the peaceful Wyoming countryside and moves to the city to begin his great adventure. Amidst the skepticism and prejudices of all those around him, superiors and colleagues, Shaun must demonstrate that, despite not having the ability to relate to people and establish a relationship with them, he is able to really save lives thanks to his incredible ability he is always able it keep thins under control and remain calm. I have always wished to become a nurse because I saw in that job the possibility of helping people in need. This idea came into my mind after having done some volunteering activities during which I understood what nursing meant for me. Indeed, I consider nursing not only a profession and passion, but a real mission. At the end of each working day, I feel happy and satisfied because I know that I have been doing something essential and relevant for a patient. Firstly, I consider being a nurse a path that leads to a better understanding of yourself, growth, and a better awareness of my strengths and limits. Moreover, even if nursing is not an easy profession, I recommend it to any young person who feels the need of helping people in suffer. In conclusion, I truly appreciate my profession and my career choice.
