She has been an active actor from 2006 to present. She is constantly perceived as a "regular person", and nothing like the intimidating actors and actresses we are used to seeing in public. 

She also doesn't mind sharing her flaws to make herself more relatable. Jennifer has had numerous occasions of her talking about all the imperfect parts of herself on TV. She has called herself fat, a terrible actress, ugly, and boring. These are all things that no other actress will admit so bluntly to the world. She is not unlike the man described in "Conclusion" by Thoreau. She was the first black woman to be a TV news anchor-reporter with WTVF-TV. Then moved to Baltimore for a hosting job with a different news company. From there she moved to Chicago to host a talk show. Oprah also starred in a couple famous movies. Such as "The Princess and the Frog" (2009), "Charlotte's Web" (2006), and "Bee Movie"(2007). These were all years after she started her own show that quickly became a success. Oprah's show ran for many years, but as of May 25th, 2011it hasn't made any new episodes. She is regarded as a very influential person of the 20th and 21st centuries.  

Oprah gives the credit to her success in her intuition. She says "Learning to trust your instincts, using your intuitive sense of what's best for you, is paramount for any lasting success. I've trusted the still, small voice of intuition my entire life. And the only time I've made mistakes is when I didn't listen" (Oprah.com). This kind of mindset can be shared with the work "Self-Reliance" written by Emerson. Ron Swanson is the best thing to hit TV. He is a man among men. Actually, he is much more than that; he is a Swanson. All he wants is to go to work and go home. He enjoys nature and is not emotionally attached to anyone. Ron also has an affinity for everything meat related. He holds his beliefs that you can't live life without meat very dearly and despises the government even though he works for them.

Ron Swanson loves his simple life or his vision of his simple life. He shares this love with Emerson in his short story "Nature". The quote connected to the picture to the left gives an example of when Emerson talks about how the beauty of nature reflects the beauty of a simple life like that of a child's life. Ron believes in something similar to that. She is a very bright witch that usually has her nose in a book. Hermione wants to be the top of her class and she is always willing to put in the effort to get ahead of her class. She also helps her friends, Harry Potter and Ron Weasely, in their dangerous adventures as they battle against dark wizards that are trying to revive the evil Lord Voldemort's reign over the Wizard World. Granger uses her extensive knowledge in all her subjects at school to get out of tricky situations.

Hermione relies on herself because she knows that no one is going to help her become the best but herself. In "Solitude" by Thoreau the character doesn't like to rely on others either. They get mad when people tell them that they should live near others. They do not want to do this because they find a peaceful calm whenever they are alone, and wouldn't want to leave if they didn't have to. Giselle is your typical princess. She loves to sing, dance, and be one with nature. Giselle actually likes to sing and dance with nature as in a scene where she cleans a house with pigeons, mice/rats, and cockroaches show this affinity towards all of nature. She doesn't know any better that these are not the cleanest animals to be in a house, so some problems arise later on.

Giselle loves nature. There is no doubt about that. She shares this bond with nature with the character in Emerson's "Nature" short story.
