Iron is a mineral that the body needs for growth and development. It is an essential part of blood production and is mostly found in the red blood cell part of our blood. Iron helps form and oxygenate blood cells, the body also needs iron to produce hormones.
If you read Geronimo Stilton, you may or may not know at least the existence of iron. A part where the water flowing out of the tap he turned on was red instead of clear, but he was reassured that it wasn't blood, instead the water was rich in iron, turning it a red color.
