TOPIC 1 (GROUP 1)

Last time, our group was assigned the topic phonemes. As we discuss how to teach children about phonemes, we are thinking about what if the school does not have an internet network or facilities such as LCD, laptop, etc, thus with that, we choose to do a simple singing activity while doing some actions that represent the lyrics. In topic 1, our group was assigned the topic vocabulary. We had discussed to do broken radio activity to teach the vocabulary. This activity is played with a group of children in a line. A word or phrase is whispered into the ear of the first person, who then whispers it into the ear of the next person and so on. The person at the end need to find the the object immediately and says the word out loud.

TOPIC 2 (GROUP 2)

In topic 2, our group was assigned the topic grammar. We had discussed to create a song to teach “this” and “these”. This song helps children to understand between the use of “this” and “these”. Besides, this songs frequently introduce new words and allowing children to learn new vocabulary in a fun and engaging manner.

In topic 1, our group presented on the topic of vowels. We have implemented the vowels activity. The activity uses the children's hearing guided by the vowel letters shown by the teacher if the teacher pronounces the wrong vowel letters the child will jump to the left if it is correct jump to the right.

In this topic, we were assigned to teach phonemes. We sang together the phonic song. There were two song which are the sound of vowel and consonant song. We didn’t not use any form of technology due to lack of facilities in Africa.

TOPIC 2 (GROUP 3)

In this topic, we taught about nouns. The young learners were asked to sit down when nouns were said and stand up when verbs were said. The game continued until there’s a winner.

In this topic, we make an activity about a part of speech that is 'broken WhatsApp'. The students are divided into three groups and asked to make a line. One student from each group will take one piece of paper that contains syllables from the msytery box, and they will whisper to the next person. The last person in line needs to say the correct syllables.
