The flip cover we have is equipped with one or two magnets. One primary magnet is close to the edge of your phone where the Hall sensor(used to detect magnetic fields) lies in the phone and one secondary magnet(optional) is towards the edge of cover. The Hall sensor receives a strong magnetic field when we try to close the cover. This hall sensor detects the presence of strong magnetic field and instructs the device to shut the screen back light or show only a portion of the screen(which you can see in view covers). The reverse process happens when we open the cover.

Magnets are used in roller coaster. The quick launch of a roller coaster is due to the magnetic propulsion. This depends on magnets repelling each other rather than attracting. Estimates with very strong magnets suggest that such propulsion could send a roller coaster up to 100 mph in a few seconds. Also, a roller coaster depends on magnetic braking, where magnets, which attract each other gradually, slow down a roller coaster. These brakes require less replacement than an ordinary roller coaster brakes, and are a cost-effective, energy saving device. Usually, magnets on roller coasters are controlled through automated systems. When propulsion is needed, magnets with different polarities may push down against the sides of the track to make contact with magnets with opposite polarities. When attraction is needed, magnets place along the track gradually slow down the coaster.
