I think for mental health related calls, a social worker responding would always be better than a cop who comes with a fear of violence

One of the girls described how after she was assaulted and won her case, she required safety training for officers when dealing with trans women. I feel this is extremely important as well as getting trans women OUT of male prisons in general. They shouldn't be there in the first place.

Mental health professionals instead of police. Reserving policing for violent crime and using the funds for policing for other professionals who might help with job/housing/food security.

Practicing self defense with each other, allowing Trans Women to be able to protect themselves not only against police but other offenders. Also having resources in places like college campuses, jobs, etc.

Within the doc, community rehabilitation seems to be the way people feel seen, so that when encountering law enforcement, the women/people have support from their community and a safety net. Alternatives to calling the police for mental health situations or drug use within the community would be good (I'm not sure of specific examples of this outside of social workers or smth along those lines)

Instead of a "secure housing unit" aka solitary confinement, that causes more mental health issues/harm than good. Police need to go through VARIOUS forms of sensitivity training, instead of stating they don't want to deal with trans lives

make the mental hospitals a viable option (compassion training for the nurses, better food and housing, NO SOLITARY CONFINEMENT especially for minors, transparency about treatment and medication, informed consent of the patient)
make rehab a viable option (all of the above things apply, I've never been to rehab but I've heard it's horrible)
make actual punishments for police officers who mess up (in ANY way)
stop over-punishing small offenses (traffic violations, petty theft, etc)
pay the inmates minimum wage or don't hire them at all
only solitary for those who are dangerous for others, not to the victim
honestly maybe just re-do the whole justice system at this point, it's corruption all the way down

Completely deconstructing the prison industrial complex and remaking it to actually protect the public which includes people in prison. The justice system needs to lead with healing rather than punishment. Keeping people separated from society in prison should be a last result and only used if they are an actual threat to others.
