         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Mission Statement</strong>- The LRA is a community of scholars dedicated to promoting research that enriches the knowledge, understanding and development of lifespan literacies in a multicultural and multilingual world. The LRA is committed to ethical research that is rigorous, methodologically diverse, and socially responsible. LRA is dedicated to disseminating such research broadly so as to promote generative theories, informed practices and sound policies. Central to its mission, LRA mentors and supports future generations of literacy scholars. <br><strong>Cost of membership</strong>- Professional member: $150, Emeritus member: $115, 2nd family member: $100, Student member: $50<br><strong>Conferences offered</strong>- LRA annual conference. December 4-7, 2019 in Tampa, Florida.<br><strong>Support for families</strong>- 2nd family members get access to LRA publications and have the right to vote and hold office.
