I would fight for out country, there is nothing without America. I would owe everything to America and fight to protect it. I would trust our political government because FDR was a great president.

In 1940 I would probably want the U.S. to stay out of the war at first since people were still recovering from World War I and the Great Depression. However, seeing how bad things were getting in Europe with Hitler and Japan's attacks, I would start to think that the U.S. should at least help the countries already fighting, such as Britain. Another reason is that this war may develop the economy, as lots of jobs opened in weapon-producing and supply production factories. I would, nevertheless, think that if the worse side won it would bring much more problems with America afterward. So I go along to aid the Allies but not participate as such in actual fighting unless of course necessary it was.

I believe we should intervene because eventually we will be involved in some form. We will get involved due to us being such a global powerhouse. Therefore, I believe we should just get control from the jump. If we want to run the world we gotta just jump in and take it over.

As an American in 1940, I would support staying out of the war because getting involved could lead to unnecessary loss of American lives. The U.S. should focus on strengthening its economy and military in case we are directly threatened. However, I do think we should provide aid to our allies, like Britain, to help stop the spread of aggression without officially entering the war.

I think stay neutral because from everything I read in the book, many lives would continue to be lost. Though the United States army is strong, I don't think its necessary to be fighting such powerful countries just so we could lose more materials, men, and many other important materials that aren't worth losing.

I would not want to go to war and risk another depression. The economy has still not recovered yet so we should not hurt our nation more. Germany and Japan are also a very powerful and there is chance of losing which would be very bad because they would gain more territory and power. During the war many people would die that don't need to.

I would support staying out of the war. Especially after the Great Depression the economy isn't great. I believe that instead of spending more money on weapons and losing soldiers America should recover from World War I and the Great Depression.

If I was in this situation I would be for the wayr and I would be for the demociury of what was happening and I would want tio fight but also get involved and defeat those Nazis from killing the Jews and the Japanese killing al they di in pearl harbor and crippled many people and left long lasting moral and mental problems for the ones not killed

The country is still in a very fragile state because of the depression, so it wouldn't be a good idea to get involved. War often leads to a lot of debt which would hurt our economy more and could reverse the progress made since the depression. We also rely on uninterrupted trade with other countries, which going to war would ruin.

I think it would be a bad idea to reinsert ourselves into another war because our nation isn't in the best condition to go to war, especially right after WWl. I think America should at least wait until having a stronger economy and military to have a better chance at success and suffer fewer casualties.

In America in 1940, I would side with staying out of the war because if the US were to get involved this would lead to a lot of unnecessary deaths. On top of this, the war could potentially lead to a repeat of the depression caused from the previous war. It could end up with a number of issues for American citizens, therefore, I feel it is not worth it to get involved in the war.

As an america in 1940, I would support the united states staying out of the war due to the loss of soldiers during WW1 , and the hardships that were faced in the great depression. If our economy still hasn't fully recovered it would not be in our best interests to get involved in Europe's war and risk causing more damage to the people and our economy.

Also the great depression just ended last year, we need to rebuild our economy and focus on the people in our own country before we go fight wars that don't involve us.
