Between a post-pandemic revival and big names in the music industry going on tour, such as Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour, and Harry Styles’ Love On Tour, the live music and events industry has seen huge growth. Mintel’s data shows attendance for both concerts and festivals has been on the rise in 2024, nearly returning to pre-pandemic levels. To gain insight into this and other questions surrounding concerts and festivals in the UK, explore further with Mintel, as we will be looking at the post-pandemic recovery of the UK live music market, how technological advancement is revolutionising the industry, and how trends and consumer behaviours are changing.

n the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, AI has the potential to reshape how consumers engage with medical services. Today, consumers in the United States can struggle with everything from finding the right insurance coverage to understanding when they should see a doctor, what it will cost, and how to manage their health. Many spend hours researching, conferring with friends and family, and calling providers and payers to find answers to their questions. In fact, a quarter of consumers we surveyed say they are not able to get the care they need when they need it.

Revenue and subscriber numbers have fallen significantly, and Chegg expects its restructuring efforts to save it $45–55 million in 2025 and $100–110 million in 2026.

Why Trousers Are the New Denim: A Shift in Workwear Trends Among Gen Z & Millennials

Human need

People want clothing that balances professionalism with comfort, especially for hybrid work.

They need versatility: outfits that work for both work settings and relaxed everyday life.

2. Behaviour

Gen Z & Millennials are choosing trousers over denim in many work-oriented contexts.

They are styling trousers with casual items (like hoodies, sneakers) and formal ones (blazers) to suit varied environments.

3. Interesting elements

The shift isn’t about denim disappearing, but expanding options: mixing trousers and denim depending on the occasion.

Fabrics, cuts, and design features (stretch, relaxed fit, breathable materials) are being prioritized.

4. Demography

Younger professionals (Gen Z & Millennials) drive this trend, especially in creative, hybrid, or less formal workplaces.

Urban populations with exposure to global fashion trends and flexible dress codes are more likely to adopt this.

5.

1. Human need

People want fashion that stands out and feels bold — it’s about making an impression.

At the same time, there’s a desire for elegance and ease — styles that look good but also feel wearable and personal.

2. Behaviour

Trends like “loud luxury,” strong colors (like brat green), and animal prints were big in 2024.

But there was also a turn toward understated elegance (“demure” aesthetic) and fashion that tells a story (“method dressing”).

3. Interesting elements

The contrast: on one side over-the-top maximalism, on the other subtle, minimal, classically tailored pieces.

Method dressing (outfits that reflect identity or context, e.g. occasions, culture, or media promos) is becoming more visible.

4. Demography

Trendsetters (celebrities, influencers) popularize the bold styles, which then filter down to fashion access via fast fashion / social media.

Younger consumers are more willing to mix and match maximalist with demure — fashion is more experimental among Gen Z/Millennials.

5. Phenomenon

Fashion is embracing extremes: louder + softer styles co-existing.

Looking ahead to 2025: continuing animal prints, maximalism, boho revivals, and sporty-luxe fusions.

6. Reflection (why interesting)

It’s interesting because fashion isn’t moving in one direction — there’s tension between boldness and subtlety, showing people want both expression and calm.

These trends show how fashion reflects cultural moods: confidence, nostalgia, identity, and adaptability.

1. Human Need

Idealism & appearance: wanting to look one’s best for big personal milestones (wedding photos, etc.).

Social validation / acceptance: fitting into societal beauty norms.

Self-esteem: feeling good about oneself on a big day.

2. Behaviour

Using weight-loss injectable treatments (“jabs”) in lead-up to weddings.

Possibly increased demand for last-minute beauty/body transformations.

Alterations to bridal fashion (dresses, tailoring) to accommodate changing bodies.

Perhaps comparisons or social media pressure to have “perfect figure” or image.

3. Interesting Elements

Intersection of medical / cosmetic intervention with social and cultural expectations.

The wedding industry adapting (dressmakers, alterations, planners) to these trends.

Ethics and health implications of fast weight loss.

How social media magnifies expectations and pressures.

4. Demography

Likely brides (and maybe grooms) of marrying age who are concerned about body image.

People who have access (financially) to cosmetic treatments.

Regions / cultures where weddings have high visibility and glamour are expected.

Possibly women more than men, given bridal industry targeting.

5. Phenomenon

Cosmetic / medical “pre-wedding makeover” trend: weight-loss injections among them.

Beauty / appearance as central part of wedding planning beyond dress/venue.

Wedding industry’s influence in shaping body image norms.

6. Reflection (why this idea’s interesting to me)

It's a vivid example of how social rituals (like weddings) pressure individuals not just financially but physically.

Raises questions about health vs. appearance, and whether industry / society are pushing unrealistic standards.

It intersects body image, identity, health care, and consumerism.

It’s relevant because we often think about weddings only in financial or emotional terms, but this shows another dimension: the physical / medical one.

Human need

People want fitness that fits their individual goals, lifestyles, and limitations.

There’s a growing desire for fitness that supports not just looks, but long-term health and aging well.

2. Behaviour

More people are using personalized fitness ecosystems with adaptive workouts and tech tools.

There’s greater interest in strength training and longevity-focused routines rather than only cardio or aesthetic goals.

3. Interesting elements

AI, wearable tech, and insights from data are becoming core parts of fitness, not just add-ons.

Corporates are now investing in employee wellness proactively, not just reacting when health problems arise.

4. Demography

Urban, fitness-aware people who have access to gyms / tech are leading these trends.

Younger adults, but also older people who care about maintaining independence and quality of life, are more involved.

5. Phenomenon

Shift from generic one-size-fits-all fitness to personalized, holistic approaches.

From seeing fitness as just appearance-oriented to seeing it as part of overall well-being and prevention.

6.

Human Need

Mental & emotional well-being: people need relief from internal stresses like guilt, anger, loneliness.

Connection & companionship: to have close, meaningful relationships, not just superficial social media ones.

Self-care: caring for the mind as much as the body.

2. Behaviour

Increasing use of counselling / therapy to deal with unresolved emotional issues.

Individuals suppressing negative emotions rather than addressing them.

Reliance on social media friendships instead of real-life support networks.

People ignoring mental health until it manifests physically (e.g. health disorders).

3. Interesting Elements

The concept of a “mind spa” as a metaphor / practice for mental health care.

Data showing sharp increases in suicides among youth (18-45) linked to mental health.

How thoughts/emotions are tied to physiology: mental state influencing hormones, lifestyle disorders.

Social changes (nuclear families, single children) contributing to loneliness.

4. Demography

Youth and adults, especially aged 18-45.

Urban settings (e.g. Lucknow) with pressures from academics, workplace, family setups.

Individuals in nuclear families or being only children.

5. Phenomenon

Epidemic-like rise in loneliness and mental health issues.

The idea of “mind spa” as a response: structured care/space for mental recovery.

The increasing visibility and importance of mental health in public discourse.

6. Reflection (why this idea is interesting to me)

Because it shows how mental health is becoming central, not marginal, in discussions about health and quality of life.

The metaphor “mind spa” is powerful—it reframes mental care as something normal, restorative, even indulgent in a good way.

I’m intrigued by the connections drawn between emotional/mental state and physical health. It underlines how much we often overlook emotional undercurrents.

It feels very relevant in today’s fast-paced, digitally connected but emotionally detached world.

From oriental influences to nationalism fervour: The trajectory of India’s fashion curve for 2024

1. Human need

There’s a craving for fashion that feels rooted in India’s history and culture, not just copied from abroad.

People want identity and pride through what they wear, reflecting both heritage and modernity.

2. Behaviour

Designers are drawing from historical trade routes (Silk Route, Persia, Africa) and oriental styles, mixing these with local Indian motifs.

Fashion is adopting “Indian + Modern” looks: modern cuts with Indian fabrics, artisanal techniques, or traditional patterns.

3. Interesting elements

The rise of nostalgia: reviving archival designs, heritage textiles, and craftsmanship as central in seasonal fashion.

A socio-political turn: fashion as expression of nationalism and cultural confidence, not just aesthetics.

4. Demography

Young people (majority 18-35 age group) are leading the trend, wanting fashion that affirms their cultural roots.

Urban, fashion-aware consumers who are also digitally engaged are more likely to adopt these fusion/ heritage-inspired trends.

5. Phenomenon

Shift from mimicking Western trends to building a distinct Indian style identity in global fashion.

Fashion is becoming a tool for cultural diplomacy and soft power — designers & influencers are gaining global recognition.

6. Reflection (why interesting)

I find this interesting because it shows culture can be protective and progressive: not rejecting global influence, but reinterpreting it in Indian context.

It suggests fashion is not only about looking good — it’s also about belonging, pride, and assertion of identity.

Interesting elements

The mix of creators: some with fashion brands, some in sustainable living, some in culture and urban lifestyle, showing diversity.

The emphasis on “storytelling” and “strategy” over just visual content; creators are positioning themselves as thought leaders.

4.
