I have been involved with Goddard one way or another for 21 years and although I may be quite biased, there is no Franchise that defines the sense of Family like you all!

Hannah LOVED seeing her friends. She has been telling us everyday that she misses them. We also did this activity plan today and have attached some pictures of Hannah’s construction work…

 

I wanted to let you know that when I stopped in to school to grab the mail and check messages, I did hear your sweet message!  I saved it so Bess can listen to it also!  

 

Thank you so much for your kind words.  It means so much all the time, but especially now with all of this uncertaintity.  We are closed for the time being, but we are trying our best to stay connected.  It has been very hard on the faculty (they all miss their kids, but zoom has helped and so have videos).  It has been so hard on the parents (it is not easy juggling working with young children), and it has been hard on me ( I worry about everyone during this time and I am very anxious to get open again where we can all be together).

 

I did scan in your thank you card and send it to all of my faculty too.  They need to hear great things from outsiders too.  Please know that Bess and I are here if you ever need anything or if your trainees need anything.

 

I hope you are doing well during this unsettling time.  I really do appreciate your reaching out, probably more than I can ever put into words.

 Today’s Goddard At Home Webinar with Dr. Kyle Pruett & Lee Scott

I enjoyed today’s webinar.  Thank you for setting these up so we can give these valuable videos to our families while most of them are home with their little ones.  The only thing that was said in the video that I want to point out so we can be careful about this in future videos is when they talked about social distancing.  Kyle said that our youngest students should be kept in small groups of only a couple of kids, however, all our Missouri schools are still open for essential personnel, health care workers, and first responders during the stay-at-home orders for our counties.  We just are not to exceed 10 people per classroom, no mixing of classrooms, no mixing of teachers (so they stay with the same group all day), etc.  Our parents can then feel anxiety if they listen to this video of what Kyle is telling them even though we are following our county guidelines.

We did receive the waiver and I chose to re-open for care stressing that we sought this to help our families that our essential personnel (as we have numerous families that fit that category) .  We still have MANY families that are not attending and we want them to feel supported during this time so we have our teachers and assistants creating videos and simple ideas to send to families. 

I wanted to share this one from my Pre-K teacher.  Hopefully it brings a slight smile to you during I’m sure very stressful times for you as well.

 We did our drive thru parade yesterday for all the families, it was a great turn out!! Just wanted to share the video :)

What a wonderful surprise!! Lily's face absolutely lit up when she saw the video and your thoughtful and sweet messages for her. She loved hearing your voices and seeing your faces, and we can tell she misses you all dearly. She definitely needs some "hug time" once we are all through this!

 

We also wanted to express our sincere gratitude for the effort you put into the at home packages. It was a fun surprise to see Mr. Dave this morning in front of our house and receive a personalized packet just for Lily. She tore right into it and enjoyed coloring and pasting her number 6 and then making the grass head person. She also enjoyed the color by numbers from last week and took great pride in her work. It is a true testament to the passion and love you bring to her education day in and day out.

Applied over a month ago with my business banker at Chase (who I’ve been with for 30 years) and my SBA lender ReadyCapital (customer for over 8 years) for the PPP loan. They were useless and MIA. Applied with the GSI referral First Bank this morning and within four hours was approved by the SBA and have a loan number to be funded next week. Unbelievable.

 

I meant to email you back earlier. We got busy with opening back up. Today is our first day opening back up. We had a good response with children coming back for a May 4^th re-opening. We had over 100 children scheduled to come back this week. This was a little more than we thought we would have.  I think the response we’ve had is mainly due to the e-learning program that GSI has implemented. You can really tell that it has made an impact with the children, parents, and even the staff. We also did a few other thing for our children/staff to help keep morale up and keep the “togetherness” of our school in place.  It all started with the virtual learning as this gave us a way to connect with everyone. We appreciate all the support and work everyone is putting in to help. It’ll definitely pay off soon. Thanks. Bill
