The two boys idolized Marcus and got too clingy so he asked for some privacy and then emailed Zeb back that he needed help.

Marcus got ready to nap, but felt like he's responsible for making sure Nate and Liam didn't get caught. He then says they became "a sleeper cell".

Marcus met Zeb on a BART following Zeb's instructions he gave him. 

Marcus wanted Zeb to get Van to come to him and act as his messenger.
