The Roman Empire controlled a large amount of the world due to its strong army and highly advanced defense system ("The Roman Republic",2021). Since they were so well prepares, they were rarely attacked as the invaders knew they would lose. This lasted for around 1000 years. the most common language spoken throughout the Roman Empire was Latin however other dialects spoken included Greek, Oscan and Etruscan. The Roman Empire consisted of many cultures such as the Greek culture, which brought learning and literature to the Empire. Throughout the Empire, travel was necessary therefor the use of a cart and oxen was the most efficient way to travel across land and boats were used to travel over the seas. Travel was essential, as goods needed to be transported. within the Roman Empire, there was a total of 36 provinces. The main ones included Egypt, Syria, Britain, Spain, Asia and Africa.

The conversion of Saul of Tarsus was very significant as Saul (Paul) changed from a non-believer to a preacher and someone who spread God's word to the people. In the beginning, Saul was threatening the Lord's disciples with death, due to him being a strong non-believer. He hated the disciples until Jesus sought him. Then he changed into a preacher of Gods word and converted to Christianity. This is significant because he converted from someone who despised the disciples, to someone who preached and spread the Lord's message.

St Paul wrote many letters, each containing different messages for their intended audiences. In Paul's letter to the Ephesians, Paul promotes faithfulness, and gratitude towards God and each other. This is demonstrated in Ephesians 4:1-16, as Paul writes how the people of Ephesus should live there best lives by being faithful and thankful to God. In Paul's letter to the Philippians (Philippians 4:6-7), He encourages that the people of Philippi show gratitude. Another message promoted by Paul was for the Romans specifically to build a peaceful and strong relationship with their churches and God. (Romans 5)

The apostle Paul was born as a Jew and later converted to Christianity. This created multiple challenges that he had to face. Throughout many of Paul's epistles, it talks about how Christ is all and is a part of all, so it doesn't matter what religion or traditions are followed. In the religion of Judaism, circumcision is the physical representation of the covenant between Abraham and God. Once pauls had converted he realised that "real circumcision is a matter of the heart - it is spiritual and not literal,"(Romans 2:28-29) therefor what matters most is obeying God.

The message of peace has a key significance on daily life. This message was promoted by Paul because he knew how important peace is for our world. In Paul's letter to the Romans, he reminds them to have peace with each other and God. Jesus was a peacemaker showing us that peace is important. Before Paul's conversion, he was not peaceful and he influenced lots of conflicts. Because of this, he realised the importance of peace. It is especially relevant as, without peace, war and conflict occur. Paul encourages us to be peacemakers throughout our lives, as 'peace is not without conflict by it is the presence of God among us'.
