The Novel, Quarantine, is good a book by Lex Thomas. It is a Fiction book about students who are quarantined in a school. In short, A man with a deadly virus in him ran into the school and the virus spread to every student in the school. This virus made the students deadly to adults so every teacher and worker in the school was killed. The military eventually cam to quarantine them inside school where the students had to fight each other for food and supplies. The students soon formed groups for protection and the ability of getting more supplies. Anyone without a gang was called a scrap, and if you weren't in a group then it was significantly harder to survive.

I would give this book a 4.8 out of 5 for a ranking. The book always had me wanting to read it and kept me on the edge of my seat most of the time. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 was because of one chapter when I just didn't want to read the book. I definitely would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good fiction novel. I recommend this book because I myself don't read that much, yet this book kept me hooked on it the whole time.

(Violin in a Void) The reason why is becsuse every teen in that school would kill them instantly if they had even the tiniest tear in their hazmat suit, and they are in a school full of teens who are willing to fight their way out out of their. Then the critique about the plot being rushed, I think is completely off the mark. Me personally, I love that he got to the action quick or else I would never have finished the book. Last thing is that this reviewer is critiquing things that should not be commented about. For example, she asked about where the 100 scraps came from. Things like these don't need to be cretiqued because this is a fiction novel.

A good universal theme for the book Quarantine is that anyone will do anything to survive. This hole book is based on the principle of survival and what people will do to survive. There are plenty of horible things the teens did to survive. For example, during each drop, people from each gang are severely hurt or even killed trying to get food and supplies. People have died by getting shot by the military, getting executed, and killing themselves.

The Teens that do survive are violent aknd will do anything to get food and supplies. At the start of a drop, "kids kicked, clawed, and stomped each other to get to the food." (Thomas 3)
This universal theme is what the book is built on. Without this theme the groups would never have been made and the book would not be neaarly as interesting.

David is the main character in the book Quarantine. He affeccts the story in a varity of ways. He has a little brother named Will, who the person he affects the most. He and Will had to be together from the start because Will has epilepsy. David provides food and spplies for his little brother. Without David, Will would neversurvive in that school without his big brother, david.

Davids also had many motivations. His main motivation for staying out of a gang was Will. Will had epililepsy, which means that no gang wanted him. The motivation for him making a gang though was to help protect people like Will, and to have someone always watching your back. With a gang you were way more likely to survive because you got more food and suplies during the drop.

I cannot relate to this character becaus of the hardship and the things that he has seen. "David awake when something long and cold and rubbery coiled around his neck and choked his throat shut," (Thomas 124) is how the narrator described the extention cord wrapped around David's throat during his attempted execution. I could not emagine even almost being executed. In this novel David has been executed (attempted), has starved for days, and has been stabbed in the eye. I could not even remotely relate to any of those things.
