I had a student who was in first grade who was having trouble with her reading. I had to help her a little with her words and help sounding them out. I had another student a couple weeks later that was really struggling with her reading and I had to help her more than the other girl. It did not matter what race, ethnicity, or gender you were you had to respect the people in charge and other people there as well. Also at the Community Learning Center they expect the kids to treat the teachers and the TA's with respect as well as the other students. The teachers and the TA's expect the students to listen to their directions and not be rude or disrespectful to them or whoever is in charge. They were digging in deep to the culture and not just scratching at the surface.
