         <description><![CDATA[<p>the warring states period lasted from 700-221 bce. During the warring states period was competition between the states increased, and armies grew much larger, with professional generals, often of humble origin, commanding massed ranks of infantry and cavalry. The smaller states were swallowed up by the larger  until only six powerful kingdoms were left. in the end, the state that stopped/won the war was the Qin dynasty.</p>]]></description>
