The United States has been shifting towards an anti-globalization shift which may have prompt policies to try to clamp down on China's unfair trade policies by raising tariff barriers against Chinese products. Overall, while there is a competitive coexistence between these two countries due to being the largest economy in the world, both sides would nothing to gain by starting a war with each other.
