It goes without saying that our daughter was blessed to be a student of theirs. I could write a whole list, but there's one that always stands out among the rest - Ms. Bernbach. 

Ms. Bernbach always pushed me towards greatness (even when I thought I was already there). She had perfected the balance of sternness and support. She always pushed me and had high expectations, but I never once felt that she wasn't 100% in my corner. I knew I could come to her with anything and everything. Her office always felt like a safe space to me, and I know it felt that way to many others. 

Admittedly, during my time at Watkinson I didn't understand why she would push me so hard. It even sometimes felt like she had higher expectations for me than others. Teenage me felt frustrated by this at times, but adult me cannot thank her enough. 

Even when it was time for college decisions, she asked me the hard probing questions that made my head spin, but ultimately led me to the school that was absolutely perfect for me. 

I have Christina to thank for so much of my current success and work ethic. I cannot thank her enough for all she did for me, even if it seemed insignificant to her at the time.
