The feedback approach that I wish to apply for my modules is three steps:

1. Peer-Assessed Oral Presentations

The strategy involves each student in noting down after each presentation one 'strength' and one 'weakness' accompanying the 'weakness' with suggestions how the presentation could be improved. The activity is preceded by tutor explanation of the assessment criteria, and followed by each student receiving their collated feedback.

Strength: student engagement and learning

Weakness: lack of preparation before this feedback

2. Speedy Feedback to Large Groups

The strategy aims to provide speedy, detailed, and personal written feedback to a large group within acceptable period of them submitting their work using a coloured sheet giving a numbered list of feedback points which are pertinent to the particular assessment task.

Strength: formative feedback

Weakness: generalization

3. Technology for speed and ease of processing the production of feedback

Various technological tools are being used to help teaching staff save time on the writing of individual feedback and thereby provide richer feedback to students. The application of editorial highlights, and insertion of customised comments and pre-written editing marks can all be added directly onto the student papers through tools such as the Grademark tool from Turnitin. This also include a summary of key weakness and strength of each student reflecting the assessment tasks.

Strength: Speedy and specific feedback

Weakness: limited details
