Answer: The founder of Islam was Muhammad. It is said that the angel Gabriel visited him while he was meditating on a hill. He received revelations from God. He wrote down that revelations. One of them were the Quran, the holy book of the religion of Islam. The Quran includes the rules of which followers of Islam should live. Gabriel told Muhammad to tell everybody what he heard. He then started telling everybody and people began converting to the religion.

All Muslims are encouraged to make a pilgrimaged to Makkah, known as the Hajj. There are overall a lot of aspects in the religion and a lot of rules. For example, only Muslims are allowed to go to the Hajj. They have many different things they do on the Hajj. Such as throw rocks at 'Satan'. They do this to cleanse themselves of all the wrong they've done in their life. Another key aspect is to follow the Quran.

It was all around Asia Minor and it survived through the First World War. It is significant because today it would be known as Turkey. Another important Empire was the Safavid Empire that stretched throughout Persia. This was significant in helping religion grow and expand and military traits. It is Iran in modern day. The Mughal Empire in India was also another great Islamic empire. It was spread throughout West Africa and Southeast Asia. It was significant because this was an empire with a power struggle.
