Blog Post One: Myself as a Personality and a Leader

When I took the personality test and my results were

ESFP. I am 41% Extroverted, 1% of Sensing, 31% of Feeling and 3% Perceiving. After seeing my results and I think that some things sounds right and some were off. I think that the extrovert is 100% right. I love being in the spotlight and love to talk and do things with others. I would rather talk to people all day than go a minute without talking. I love to hear about people's days and just like talking to others in general. I always knew that I loved to talk to others because my mom would tell me I would be talking too strangers by the age of 2! I love to hang out with my friends and be surrounded by people all the time. I feel lonely when I have no plans. I love going to new places and seeing and meeting new people! I don't think that I have a 1% of sensing. I always believe that I am in tune with myself and always go with my gut. I sometimes over think situations and says should've done that instead of what I actually did. Which leads into the next thing, I tend to make decisions with my feeling than thinking it over. I sometimes will think over a situation of that might have big impact but if it is a small decisions, I tend to decide with my feelings over than thinking it through. I tend to follow my gut and make designs with my feelings. I believe that I am doing the right thing and follow my heart. Lastly I have no preference of perceiving over judging. I tend to judge things to quickly before I have the chance to see somethings in full. I tend to do this with book a lot. I will judge it before the second chapter but sometimes I end up liking that book or sometimes I follow my instincts and was right and knew I wouldn't like it.

Personally I don't think that one test will know your personality 100% because we are constantly changing and our personalities change also. Everyone has their own personalities and I think that everyones personalities are there own. I develop and know a persons personality over me spending time with them. I also have see "introverts" at social gathering and "extroverts" being alone. I think everyones personality is amazing and I won't judge a personal based on it.

For the leadership test, my score was a 64. "I am on my way of becoming a great leader" I usually like being in charge and when I saw my results I wasn't surprised. I am not bossy but I like when there is leadership when I do assignments and at school. I don't like when this are unorganized and I feel better when there is a sense of direction and leadership evolved. I believe that things run better when someone is in chaser and when there is organization and not chaos involved.

Lauren always knows how to make a situation fun! We meant freshman year and we didn't talk much but at the end of junior year we grew close and next thing I know me and Kathryn are at her house every weekend mostly likely watching Moana! She is super funny and is also sweet and kind! She goes to Purdue and she usually comes home during the weekend and every almost every Friday we go to Wok and Fire(our fav restaurant)!

Gina, I enjoyed reading and learning more about you! I liked the background you chose...the beach is a "happy place" for me as well! Your perspective on the personality assessment results was "right on"...I would agree with them~ You are a friendly approachable person with a smile that people would be drawn to...you are fortunate! I would agree with your perception of the leadership results as well...you are a leader and will only get more so as you gain experience! Exciting for the future!

I noticed that there were several sentences that weren't as clearly written as they could be. For example, the first sentence was an incomplete sentence; sentence agreement in the second sentence was off...some things sound right; the part where you wrote "says shouldn've done that" was unclear and the part, "think over a situation of that might have," needs additional words; lastly needs a comma after it; with books, not book; the last sentence in the first paragraph was a run-on...should be divided into two; in the second paragraph, persons should be person's; and in the last paragraph, I wasn't sure what "someone in chaser" meant. I think most of these would have been corrected by a second reading...try to do that for Blog 2. If you have questions on these, please let me know!

Blog Post Two:"Myself as a Decision Maker"

My results from the brain dominance assessments were that I am slightly more towards the left. I thought that I would be more to the left when I first found out the results but the more I thought about it I realized that I do certain things that are more right brained. For instance, when I process the new information I need to see a list of instructions I can't imagine how something will look. I have always been someone to follow directions and just start a new project open-handed, I need some sort of direction or guidelines at least. But when I make decisions I find myself in both the right and left side of the brain. I think it really depends on what decision is it. Small quick decisions where I don't really need to over think them I think about it logically, I don't use my gut feeling or emotions to decide what the outcome should be. But big decisions, that I know will have an impact on my life I like to still down and really think about it. Like in chapter five of Tattoos on the Heart, I felt that my decisions for what college I was going to were slow. I don't know why it felt like that but it sure seemed that way. My right brain side kicked in and I sat down and thought about it. I decided to use my emotions and feeling to decide, rather than think about it logistically. I thought about so many things, is this the right school for me, will I have the college experience here, can I see myself here, does this school feel right in my heart? There were too many questions to be answered so I went for what I felt like was the best decision by in the end I should've thought about the situation on both sides; with my feeling and logic behind it. Instead, I pick a school to make my mom happy cause I felt that was the right thing to do. After reading chapter five I now realized I should've put more thought into it and slowed down and thought about what I wanted and not make others happy. I need to go where I feel is right and not where others tell I should go. I think the impact of the decision that I made me realized that I should've listened to myself. After reading chapter 5, what I can take from is that some decisions are going to make an impact on your life, big or small. We need to really think about them, even though the process might be slow but in the end, the decisions get made. I, myself, and others can probably relate to Leo and his decision on going to college and now has a job. We all made that decisions at one point in our lives are we going to college? In the end, I can see how these decisions and slow work really has an effect on our lives.

Gina, I appreciated your honest response to the blog topic. I feel sad that you feel that you didn't make the right decision as to what college to attend. It is comfortable to make the decision our parents want us to make...I know I didn't have a choice on which college to attend...my parents said where I would go and I went! This turned out to be the right one for me, so I hope you find your decision to end up being the right one as well. Let me know if you ever want to talk about this.
There were several writing/grammar errors that I noticed. They are: 1. the new should only be new 2. instructor should have a period after it 3. I can't just doesn't need just. 4. is it should be it is 5. not is needed before just start project 6.open-handed needs a period 7. about them, not it 8. still should be sit down 9. so many things, for example: 10. decision in, not by 11. best decision. In the end 12. sides, 13. I picked, not pick... because, not cause 14. I now realize, not realized 15.and not just about making others happy 16. college that led to a job (clearer sentence) 17. Like Leo, we all made that decision at one time about whether to go to college (clearer) 18. I can see how this decision and slow work would really have an effect on our lives (clearer).
These edits are on order...look them over and let me know if you have questions.

My results for the self-awareness section were 31. I was not super surprised about the result because I find myself to be in tune with what I’m feeling emotional and I am able to recognize how my emotions affect others and my behavior. I like to think of myself as someone with a lot of emotions, but I don’t like to inflict them on others too often. I like to keep my emotions to myself most of the time, but I can immediately see if my emotions get to the best of me. Sometimes I let my emotions speak for me and that doesn’t always work out so well in the end. In conclusion, I am always able to recognize when my emotions change and I can also read and pick up other peoples emotions as well. I feel like in the future I can use this as an advantage because I want to go into the medical field and, it would help a lot if I were to know how my patient was feeling or if I could do anything to help them.

My results for the managing emotions section were 27. Even though I scored the lowest on this section I still feel like I am able to stay focused even if I am experiencing emotion. Occasionally I am able to block off my emotions from the world and not have my emotions affect me. But other times if a certain event has really affected me I cannot help my emotions. In the future, I hope I can control certain events that can change my emotions and be able to express them in a way so I don’t get off task. But also I am in tune with my emotions so maybe if something were to happen it could be a sign to let me know to just a quick break so I can get back to focus.

My results of the motivating oneself were 30. In a way, I like to use my emotions in a way where I can benefit from them. I will often take my emotions and use them as a motivation towards my goals in life. If I am feeling happy, excited or even sad I like to take those emotions and get to work. Sometimes these emotions can sit me down for hours and do homework because I’m motivated to get it done. Also when I’m feeling stressed I like to motivate my self to relax for a bit or just take a quick nap because I know it will help clear my head. In the future, I’d like to take my emotions and use them at work to help guide myself in a certain situation and also use those emotions to help others.

My results for the empathy section were 37. This was the section I scored the highest on and I am not surprised. I have always had this sense of empathy towards others since I can remember. When even someone was upset or just need to talk to someone, I would be there and listen to him or her for hours. I felt like I could relate and connect to their issues and had this sense of compassion towards them. I didn’t just say things would get better I would listen to them and give them comfort in times of need. I didn’t matter if I was busy or it was the middle of the night, I would always be there for them in the time of need. I had to grow up pretty quickly as a child so I missed out on some parts of my childhood that others experienced. I was always told that I was more mature for my age and that I was a good listener. I like to make others comfortable and be there for them. I think this is one of my most cherished traits that I have and am I glad I have it. In the future, I would like to use this in my career and be able to help and listen to others when they need it. And also take time for me to be listened to. I sometimes push my feeling aside and don’t always take care of myself so I would like to give myself some time to be heard as well.

My results for the social skill section were 30. I like to say that I am a very outgoing and social person. I love to talk to others and make new friendships. I also love going to different placed and seeing new and exciting things. I always want others to succeed in life. My mom has always provided for my family and she always had the influence for us to want to succeed as well. I love when I see people working hard on something and when it finally pays off they are so happy. I like to share my emotions so I can hopefully brighten someone’s day or give them some amount of inspiration. In the future, I would like to share my emotions more so I can inspire emotions in others.

In conclusion, I think that emotions are so important in the world. I believe that emotions are powerful can affect people in so many ways. They are important in my life because they made me realized the person I am today. Without any emotions, people would never have a chance to express happiness or even sadness. It is so important to be in tune with your emotions because they impact our lives daily. I hope that I keep my emotions close to my heart and can someday help others with them.

That you are open to wanting to improve in the weaker areas says a lot about you as a person...status quo is not acceptable!
