Based on my reading of “ What Is Biodiversity” I found it interesting the the more biodiversity there is in a habit the better of a chance it will survive. While on the other hand if biodiversity is decreesed ( less than) that it will have a slimmer chance of survival. I found this intriguing because I have never researched biodiversity and so I knew almost nothing about the topic. As a result the new information took me be surprise. But I never knew a habit and the animals that live within it depend on if the animals are biodiverse.

Dictionary Definition
Biodiversity :the existence of many different kinds of plants and animals in an environment

Sum up
Biodiversity: Plants and animals in an area that are different

I found it confusing that places with more biodiversity are most likely to survive. I found this confusing because I didn’t get how or why. I was wondering if it was just this way, or if we did something to get this way. And it is not always fair. There isn’t always a wide variety of plants and animals in places. There could be less animals in NY than in CA.

One thing I found both confusing and surprising based on my reading of the text, “What is biodiversity”, is that humankind can only survive if there is biodiversity. I found this confusing because I kept thinking, “How is biodiversity important for mankind?”. And I found this surprising because I would never think of biodiversity. And now that I have learned about biodiversity and how people ruin it, I want to do so much to help same biodiversity and ecosystems. In the text, it talk about how there was a biological diversity convention that was open for signature in 1992. It was also surprising that every where in the world has signed it and ratified it except for the United States. People around the world (except for us) is trying to save biodiversity since 1993! Why can’t the United States sign it? This is what I found surprising and confusing.

I found it surprising that animals are dying 1000 to 10000 times faster then usual. I found this surprising because at that rate for all we know we could be feeding them poison because that is extremely fast. Also this means we have no care what’s so ever maybe 5 times more would not be noticeable but 10000 WE ARE DOING SOMETHING HORRIBLELY WRONG HERE!

I found that the importance of biodiversity in our lives was interesting because I never knew that it contributes to the amount of activities was can participate in. The text claims that biodiversity gives us more choices of foods to eat. This shows me that I can be eating so many food because of biodiversity. Also the text states that biodiversity allows us to enjoys different places in nature. This describes how biodiversity allows us to see nature at its finest.
