         <description><![CDATA[<div>next i saw the church of santa maria in aracoeli. the church is known for holding treasures belonging to <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helena_(empress)">Saint Helena</a>, mother of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emperor_Constantine">Emperor Constantine</a>. <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juniper_(friar)">Saint Juniper</a>, one of the original followers of Saint Francis of Assisi was buried in the church among others. I was amazed by the wall paintings, known as frescoes.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>then i saw the trevi fountain. i didn't know this was such a popular attraction! The fountain was designed by the architect Nicplas Salvi. Many people go to the Trevi Fountain to throw in coins in and make wishes. In 2016 almost 1.5 million dollars were thrown into the fountain.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The next day we visited the Colosseum and stayed for quite awhile. The Colosseum was built between 70-80 AD. I was so surprised to see something that old still standing today. It's estimated that the Colosseum could once hold up to 80,000 spectators. The Colosseum was used for gladiator fights, executions, plays, etc.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Spanish Steps</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Later that day we saw the Spanish Steps. I couldn't believe there are 135 steps! My friends and I decided to race and I climbed the steps in 10 minutes. These steps connect a piazza to a French church at the top. The Spanish Steps have been featured in lots of movies which has made them well known.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Vatican Obelisk</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Finally we visited the Vatican. There were a lot of interesting things to see, but the one that really caught my eye was the Vatican obelisk. This obelisk is the second tallest one in Rome, and came from Egypt. This obelisk stands at 25.5 meters tall. Though it came from Egypt, there are no hieroglyphs on it.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>we then saw the pons cestius, a famous roman bridge. The original pons cestius was built some time between 62 and 27 BC. When i first heard that i was so amazed(and I thought the Colosseum was old)! The bridge was later rebuilt in 1880.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Mausoleum of Hadrian or Castel Sant'Angelo was truly amazing. It was built in 123 too 139 AD. It is home to Hadrian's tomb. Hadrian's tomb is the tomb of the Roman emperor <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hadrian">Hadrian</a>. The mausoleum was built for and by hadrain.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Fontana dell'Acqua Paola also known as Il Fontanone ("The big fountain") was another stop. the fountain was inspired by the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fontana_dell%27Acqua_Felice">Fontana dell'Acqua Felice</a>. fontana dell'Acqua Felice was built by pope sixtus V in 1585-88. The fountain has been in music and even a James Bond movie.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
