The Police Force will need to intervene by stopping and searching the suspects and seizing the drugs they are carrying. Under part 15 of LEPRA they are entitled to do this if they have reason to be suspicious. Under section 99 of LEPRA the officer can arrest the suspects carrying the drugs as it is on reasonable grounds.
The police can continue to excercise this power as the man tries to attack the customs officer, the police have duty to protect the safety and welfare of any person. The police are following the problem based model of policing. The police will stay present until they decide where the man, the lady
and the child will be taken.
