Christina Rossetti was a very important poet of the XIX century, she was borned in a good family with good opportunities in London, England and was the last child of her family. She became really close to her mother when her dad died and actually helped her mother when her family was in financial problems by writing some poetry.

When she became an adult, she got cancer and some other diseases which made her life in danger and that's where she became really close with religion and wrote some poems about it.

I really liked reading Christina Rossetti because I think it is very important to understand the point of view she had in the 1800s and how it reflects society in her poems.

I think it is very interesting that her poems reflect her religious faith and opinion, because for me it is a theme I don't usually know or be interested in, but the way she uses it in her poems make it very valuable and astonishing for the reader.

Also it is important to know her context to actually fully understand her intentions, feelings and decisions she took on her specific technique of writing towards the different poems she created.

Christina Rossetti is very different from Grace Nichols in so many ways; they actually have very different lives which affected and are the cause of their writing and the themes each one of them chose.

In my opinion there is a big contrast on both writings because Grace Nichols uses a lot of feminism and controversial issues such as Immigration and the conquerors that went to her country, and in the other hand, Christina Rossetti who was born into a privileged family in a privileged country, she talks about religion.

There is also a very important theme that they both agree and touch in their poems which is nature, more specifically “mother nature” and its beauty and impact in everyone's life and the importance it has in our world.

The poet that I liked the most was Grace Nichols because I really liked how she portrayed her life in every single of the poems, and although it was very rough and difficult, she made it very beautiful and created a sense of empathy in the reader.

For Christina Rossetti I thought she wrote some beautiful poems, but I didn't like a lot of the techniques she used and the theme of religion, because I think it's a very complicated theme.
