At Tyee we have multiple classes in portable class rooms. I do don’t understand how the capacity is reported as so low, but at the same time Tyee is using portables.

Are you considering the impact of climate change of close to 1000 families driving across town every day? I am trying to teach my children about climate change and using less energy. We walk to Tyee every day. I don’t want my daughter to think that it is okay to drive across town every day.

Bellevue has a big push for more housing density and more apartment. Bellevue is projecting overall increase in residents. I didn’t see this reflected in any of the reports.

Need a holistic view on the population of the student.
Need to understand why public school enrollment declined and private went up during pandemic period?
I am concerning that it is not a decline but more like a shift because more preferred in-person class in private school during pandemic period. If we reduce the public size, we would keep seeing this trend, which doesn’t help improve the BSD.

What is the process to review the decision and approve the corrective action?

First of all, prediction beyond three years has low confidence level. It is not wise to make such an important decision based on 10 year prediction.

So, if we eventually make the consolidation decision, what is the process in BSD to review the decision and make the corrective action every year? I’d like BSD to provide this as part of complete decision-making process.

My child is in AL at Tyee. What would happen to the AL program if Tyee were to close? Would the AL program go away?

Bellevue city’s future planning include building a lot of units condos/apartments. Also House Bill 1110 allows duplex-fourplex on one lot. So even though the birthrate may decrease, Bellevue still has a lot of new families moving in. So closing schools right now should not be a right decision.
