Having friends is forbidden. It is against the law. international keeps Equality secrets hidden, and always has his back.

Liberty/The Golden One- Golden one is a name givin

1. Freedom is something you must seek out to find. It will not come to you, you must go to it.
Evidence: Equality had to leave the City to find his freedom. If he didn't leave then he would never get his freedom.
2. Love can never die, we humans will always find love.
Evidence: Equality and Liberty loved each other when neither of them knew that loving a person of the opposite gender was a thing.
3. To find true happiness, sometimes you have to break though true sadness.
Evidence: for Equality and Liberty to find true happiness they both had to go through great sadness living in the City.
4. It is better to live a free life than to die to live in the chains of tyranny.
Evidence: Equality ran away to live in the dangerous uncharted forest, free. It was better than living in the City where he would be feed and safe but in chains of control.
5. Sometimes you need your independence to grow stronger because society will hold you back from achieving great things
Evidence: Equality needed to independently study and experiment on his own for him to truly grow. His society would have never allowed it.

Anthem was not as bad as a book that I originally thought. I loved the lessons that Anthem teaches us. Anthem has good character build up. any Rand does a good job at making each character unique in a world were everyone is supposed to be the same.
I did not like the way Anthem ended. All the sudden they just came upon a house and decided to stay and that was it. The plot seemed kind of dry to me. Nothing to exciting or unpredictable happened. I think the book would have been much better if it had a creative plot twist at the end.

The City runs on a strict schedule that never changes. Wakeup, eat, work, eat, work, eat, watch a play, sleep. Each person is assigned a job by the council. Everyone obeys the council and lives a simple life.
