March is a graphic memoir about John Lewis's activism during the Civil Rights Movement in America during the 1960s.  He was on the front lines of this movement, teaching and spreading nonviolence, in attempt to get equal voting rights for Black Americans.  He was regularly humiliated, jailed, beaten, and even had his skull fractured, and all he was asking was to be seen and treated as an equal human being.

March was one of the most powerful books that I have read in a very long time. It made me very upset, to see how hard John Lewis, and so many others, had to fight just to get the same rights as White people. It also made me think of all the protests and racial injustice that we have been seeing this year. i read "Bridge to Terabithia"  and it is about a boy named Jesse who struggles to make friends and a girl named Leslie and they become friends and they hang out every day and they found an old tree house which they turned into a kingdom using their imagination.


Bridge to Terabithia is one of the most saddest book i have ever read and it makes you think about how everyone looses someone or something.

the phantom tollbooth is about a boy named Milo who travels to "the land beyond" by using the phantom tollbooth; a magical tollbooth for children who have nothing to do. Milo goes to the land beyond, where he meets the faithful watch dog Tock, and the ignorant Humbug. They learn that someone has to rescue the two princesses, Reason and Rhyme, to restore peace to the land beyond. They travel through odd places, and end up saving the two princesses from the castle in the air.

I thought this book was amazing, and it sort of is a state of mind. For example, In the land beyond, there is a island named conclusions. The only way to get there is to unintentionally jump. Walk Two Moons is a realistic fiction book that is about a girl named Sal who goes on a road trip with her grandparents to find her mom that left her. While they are on the trip, Sal tells the story of her friend Phoebe and her story about how her mom went missing and how they found her. This book tells about their road trip and events that happened on the trip and the story of Sal and Phoebe.

I thought this book was really interesting. I have never read a book quite like this one that kind of had two stories that were related in one book. The Watson go to Birmingham is about a black family who lives in  Flint were the whether  was in the negatives. Kenny's the main character  brother Byron was always getting in trouble and his mom wanted to teach him a lessen. The mom called her mother and told her that she would be paying her a visit. On there way they went threw a lot of racism. There were a lot of problems but the Watson's still worked threw them.  
My  I really liked this book because it reminds me of what happening right now in this world.

Cardboard is a book about a poor father and son. The father is trying to get a present for the son (cam) birthday. He looks around and finds a man selling toys. The man says the cardboard is magical. At first he doesn't believe it, he goes home and gives the empty cardboard box to cam. He makes the most out of it and builds a cardboard man.

 It comes to life and they make more. The neighborhood bully Marcus finds out and sprays the cardboard man with water. They don't have anymore cardboard so they make a cardboard maker.

 But the cardboard has rules you can only use how much the man gives you and you can't have more. Marcus steals the cardboard maker and makes his own cardboard monsters.

 They turn against him and try to eat everyone. Marcus and Cam get taken and they need to escape, while the cardboard man and Cams dad make weapons. They All escape and Bill the cardboard man, launches his rocket that he made. It blows up and turns into rain. bill the cardboard man dies and all the other cardboard people. Bill come's back to life as a man while they are fixing the town.

Schmidt about a boy named Holling Hoodhood and his family going threw some troubles. At first he had a teacher named Mrs.Baker and and she "hated his guts",  it's was more like everybody in his class just hated him for no reason.  Then he got two yellow teethed scary  scaby rats in a ceiling and they almost hit a bus, he also does Shakespeare and has to wear yellow tights for some extra cash, and that doesn't out to well either. But finally things start calming down, and he gets to meet some favorite baseball players falls in love with a girl he liked named Meryll Lee and his sister runs away to find herself.

The Bridge to Terabithia is about two kids named Leslie and Jessie. They have a magical kingdom. The prince of the magical kingdom is a dog. The dogs name was Prince Terrien. Jess and Leslie are really good friends. The book has a lot  of moments were there is true friendship.

The Bridge to Terabithia is a book with a big theme in it. In my opinion the book is mainly about true friendship. Katherine Patterson wrote this book to show different examples of true friendship throughout the book. Wednesday Wars is a book that takes place during the Vietnam war. The  book is about Holling Hoodhood. He is a  7th grade student. Holling does not think that his teacher likes him, but later finds out that she is nicer then he thought. He also has to stay at school every Wednesday instead of going to Catechism. Holling starts reading Shakespeare with Ms. Baker. At first, he hates it, but then he really likes it and ends up getting a part in the school play, The Tempest. 

The Wednesday Wars is one of the best books I've read. I like books that take place in a school because they are usually very funny. I also think  the characters  are fun to read about because I can identify with them and what they go through. I also liked the setting because it took place in a school and during a very important time in history. Finally, I liked how Holling grew up during the story.

This book is about how a girl Salamanca went on a journey to find her mom. Her mom had sent her postcard from her journey so, Salamanca and her grandparents followed the postcard and where she had been. While they are on the trip she tells the story of how she moved after her mom never came back and how she met Phoebe and about the lunatic who actually Phoebe and Sal didn't think of to be.

I thought the book was confusing because it kept flipping back to flashbacks and skipping around. This book is about a family black family from Michigan that goes to Alabama to punish there oldest son Byron for his terrible behavior and make him stay with his grandmother "grandma sands". While there there a lot of bad things happen. Middle son Kenny almost drowns and Youngest Joetta's church gets bombed. The family ends up staying there cause they cant leave Byron.  They end up going back home to Michigan .

Bridge to Terabithia is a book about two friends Jess Arron and Leslie Burke. They were not friends at first  all because of a running race but over a couple weeks they started to hang out more and more. One day they went behind Leslies house  into the woods and created a little hut that they called their castle. They turned her woods into a "kingdom". After school everyday they would go to Terabithia. There was a rope swing  and a creek under the rope swing. One day Jess went to a  art show with his teacher. When he got back his family told him that Leslie went over to Terabithia but she fell of the rope swing and died in the creek. Jess was really sad but his family and Jesses parents.

I thought the book was really good. I liked how they had such a great friendship. On their journey, they met 3 witches, Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which. They get to planets by tessering which is kind of like teleporting. In the end, it was up to Meg to save her father and her little brother.

 I really liked this book because it was one of those books where you can't put it down. It was really interesting. The Wednesday Wars is a historical fiction book set in 1967-1968 Long Island while the Korean War is going on. It follows a boy named Holling Hoodhood (No joke, that's his name) in seventh grade. Holling thinks his teacher Ms. Baker is out to get him. And to make matters worse, Holling is Presbyterian, so he can't go to church with the rest of the class, so he has to read Shakespeare with his teacher. Even though he's tentative at first, Holling starts to enjoy his time with Ms. Baker. A lot of chaos ensues throughout the year, like a helicopter crash, two escaped rats, a fairy with white feathers on his butt, and a baseball signing from the late great Mickey Mantle...

I thought this book was great and had many interesting themes, such as "life is more than just a good-paying job. To be honest, my initial appeal was "war", but the book ended up better than expected. I would recommend this book to anyone my age. I loved this book!

Bridge To Terabithia is book about two friends, Jess and Leslie. Jess and Leslie are the two main characters in this book.  They meet when Leslie comes to school and races all the boys and she wins. After the race Jess and Leslie started to become friends and would hangout almost everyday.  One day they went to the woods and made a secret place called Terabithia to get there you had to swing across a rope over a bridge. One day Leslie went across the rope and she past Jess really missed her a lot. But at the end Leslie's parents gave Jess all her things she loved so Jess could always remember her. 

I really liked this book because all the adventures that Leslie and Jess had together it felt like I was having the fun with them.  I also like that in the beginning boys were saying that she could never win against all the boys and Leslie didn't care what they said and she won and proved them wrong. This book really showed you should never judge a book by its cover.

I give Bridge to Terabithia an award for most realistic and most imagery.I feel that this book had a lot of realistic features and the author used a terrific selection of very descriptive words. These words would bring you through a journey throughout your head, you felt like you were standing there paying and swinging with them. you could read this book every day and not be boated. this author has wrote something that no one will ever be able to recreate like in a movie. She captures the readers attention and hints the ending with leaving the reader to say well I think I might know what happens and after each page turned there idea gets better of what is going to happen. After reading this book am a going to definitely be reading more by this author. I really enjoyed reading Bridge to Terabithia. I would strongly recommend to any one who likes a fun, adventurous, detailed, and enjoyable book. and who doesn't want that. This book won the Newbery Medal and it definitely deserves it. This is one of my favorite books. This is a brief summary of the book. A boy named Jess is going to school not expecting anything new to happen but when he races all the boys a girl named Leslie joins in and they become friends. I really liked A Wrinkle in Time. The message that they are trying to send is that to trust the ones you love and keep on pushing even when times are rough.

Bridge to Terabithia is a novel about two kids, Jess, and Leslie, who become close companions. Together, they make a magical world called Terabithia. They rule the land as king and queen. Threats approach their territory and they must work together to protect their belonged land. Sadly, a horrible tragedy occurs concerning Leslie. It is up to Jess to make sure Terabithia stays safe. 

In my opinion, Bridge to Terabithia was a strong written book. I think that the plot is really awesome, which made it fun to read. What I really considered amazing about this book is how well it painted a picture for me. That's something I always look forward to when reading. Also, I loved how much emotion was put into this book. Honestly, at the end I did cry. The Watsons go to Birmingham  Is a book about a Black family that lives in Michigan. One of the characters, Bryon, normally gets punished a lot in the house. For this behavior they go to Alabama as a punishment for Byron. While up there they experience a bombing up at the church which had a bunch of little girls in there. People were killed, injured and scared to death that someone would ever do this. They were targeting the black people since back then things were not so great for the black.

I enjoyed this book a lot because it showed a kid point of view of when this bombing happened and how hurt he was from it. It's sad to think that things like that happened back then but have smoothed out today. I enjoyed it much more than I expected to since its not really the genre I would normally read. Bridge to Terabithia is a fantasy novel created by Katherine Paterson. The book is about to kids named Jesse and Leslie after upcoming challenging events at home and school Jesse doubts his art talent and says its no good. Leslie however creates a fantasy world named Terabithia to escape from their troubles at home and school. Soon after this Leslie is killed from hitting her head and drowning, This changes Jesse and forces him to accept his true passion.


This book was a emotional experience that definitely changed me, made me cry, and taught me to never hide your feelings even if they are bad. I personally loved this book it had very strong dialogue and the cover is one of my favorite photos to this day.
