Response topic 1: Life After Death

 

I have no evidence to prove otherwise, the probability that life after death exists is slim to none. The most likely case is that death is like the life of a photon. Just try to imagine what you felt like before you were conceived, there was nothing to experience cause you had no vessel to experience "it" with, all of time blinked by in less than an instant until you had said vessel. (wanna experience that before you die? good luck figuring out how to travel at the speed of light. If you can manage it, you'd figure out tho so props to whoever does that). Though I have no evidence to prove that theory right either, so ghosts could very well exist for all I know. In the end, I guess we'll all find out sooner or later which is only really a bad thing to think about if you think its a bad thing, you could really see death from hundreds of different perspectives because there's no way of knowing what it's truly like or even if we can know even after death, I prefer to think of it as an exciting adventure diving into the unknown rather than a constant looming fear. If you live your whole life thinking about death as a bad thing then you're never going to truly live.

Response topic 2: Why do Others Believe in the Soul?

 

The belief in ghosts and spirits could be so simple as such a fear of death that the brain needed to find a way to cope with the end, believing that consciousness exists in such a powerful way that it could disembody itself and could manifest itself in a metaphysical form. Personally the theory of the soul sounds to me like it sprouted from some egotistical irrational conclusion arrived from humans' collective fear of death and willingness to cast out logic to soothe their minds. Some way to explain the unexplainable purely because they can't handle the most logical outcome. Kind of like why religion and faith exists, some people just need something to believe in to go on and to believe that there's some order and meaning to the endless entropy that is this universe. It's not a bad thing either, personally I can't blame them in the slightest. There's a time in everything's life that the thought of death is so overwhelming that they need something to help ignore it or they'll live their entire life in mental agony. The mind was never made to comprehend the infinite so don't even try to, it'll only hurt you. Just stick with the thought that you have a soul, a form of energy that will carry on even after that energy ceases to pass through what used to be you.

Response topic 3: My Conclusion

 

In all actuality I think ghosts do exist, but I highly doubt their given definition is the correct one. The common consensus is that ghosts are the energy left behind from life when it dies, but what death is is that life energy extinguishing. Think about it like a machine, after all, living organisms are just machines built from meat instead of metal. If a computer is turned off, is the energy that's used up by running through the circuits is what the machine is? Personally, I think it's the specs that make up the machine. I think the energy isn't what lives, the energy is what allows things to live. If there's no machine for that energy to operate in, it'll all just disperse. It won't flow to anything because there's nothing for it to flow through. I think what we call ghosts and spirits might less be dead humans coming back and more so their own entities, other life forms from different planes of existence slipping into our own, maybe they’re groups of energy anomalously manifesting itself into a configuration that can hold itself together through an impossible medium long enough to be able perceive the world around it and retain information to situationally react to stimulus (its own entity, not a deceased entity recreating itself), maybe even extra terrestrials for all we know. My personal favorite theory is that what these aberrations are are harmonic frequencies resonating in such a precise fashion that they’re able to take a semi-physical form and channel energy through them. There are literally countless both correct and incorrect reasons to explain the existence of literally everything unexplainable if the multiverse is truly infinite, maybe not in a humans comprehendible language format but if true infinity exists, everything's at least somewhat probable.
