It was a cold November evening, and Detective jack Lowell, was taking one of his rare breaks, sipping a glass of whiskey in his office. The tranquility surrounding London was shattered by an insistent knock on the door, a rapid, anxious sound that immediately caught Lowell's attention.

Jack opened the door, finding himself faced with a young man who looked distressed and worried. "Detective Lowell, please, you have to help me," the young man exclaimed in a small voice. "My name is Arthur Collins, and I fear my sister is in grave danger."

Jack calmly made him sit down and invited him to tell the story. Arthur explained that his sister, Emily, a pianist known throughout London for her skill, had been missing for two days. She was last seen heading to an abandoned mansion on the outskirts of the city known as Blackwood Villa. "No one dares go near that mansion," Arthur said with a shiver in his voice. "It is said to be cursed, but Emily was not afraid of those stories. She had received a mysterious letter, which spoke of an ancient piano kept there. She seemed obsessed with finding it."

Jack, a little in disbelief, decided that it was time to find out what was hidden behind those voices and, above all, to find Emily. He decided to go to Blackwood Manor immediately. It was a place that had always aroused curiosity in the few who spoke about it, but most people preferred to avoid it. Armed only with his flashlight and his intuition, Lowell set off through the deserted, fog-shrouded streets until he reached the outskirts, where the mansion rose like an ominous shadow.

Blackwood Manor was even more disturbing than Jack had expected. Dark and silent, with broken windows and the front door ajar, it seemed abandoned for years. But something in the air suggested that it wasn't completely deserted. Upon entering, Jack immediately sensed a heavy atmosphere.

With the torch he illuminated every corner of the large entrance hall. Climbing the stairs, the floor creaked under his steps, increasing the sense of unease. That's when he found one of his first traces of Emily: a red silk scarf, abandoned near one of the upstairs doors.

Behind that door, Henry found a piano covered in dust. It was an ancient and magnificent instrument but it was evident that it had not been touched for years. On the stool, a small wooden box had been left open. Inside, there was a note yellowed by time that read: "Never play the melody of silence."

Jack looked around the room carefully, looking for more clues, but it was then that he heard a sound that made him freeze: a soft melody coming from the ground floor. The sound was delicate, almost hypnotic. Following the sound, Jack went down the stairs and towards a hidden room, behind a bookcase that seemed blocked. With one swift movement, he pushed it open and revealed a secret passage.

The secret room was dark, lit only by a few burnt candles, and in the center was another piano, played by a man. Next to him, tied to a chair, was Emily. Her face was pale, but her eyes lit up at the sight of Jack .

The man, a scruffy-looking musician with a crazy look, continued to play, completely ignoring Jack's presence. With one swift movement, the detective disarmed him, stopping the music. The man, surprised and frightened, collapsed on himself, mumbling incomprehensible words.

Emily, finally free, explained that the man was an old admirer obsessed with her music. He had lured her there with the promise of showing her a unique piano, but his true intention was to keep her prisoner, forcing her to play only for him, forever. The "Melody of Silence" was a composition that he believed would forever bind his soul to Emily's.

Thanks to Henry's timely intervention, Emily was saved, and the man was handed over to the authorities, where he received the help he evidently needed. The legend of Blackwood Villa remained, but at least part of its mystery had been revealed, bringing some serenity back to the heart of London.

Evelyn "Eve" Sinclair wasn't your average detective. A former librarian with a knack for the obscure and a sharp eye for detail, she'd traded in her Dewey Decimal System for a badge and a gun. Her latest case was a peculiar one: a missing manuscript.

The manuscript belonged to a renowned author, Professor Arthur Blackwood, who had recently passed away. It was said to contain secrets about a long-lost civilization, and was due to be published when it mysteriously vanished from Blackwood's estate.

Eve was called in by Blackwood's daughter, a nervous woman named Sarah. She explained that her father had been working on the manuscript up until the very end. The last time she'd seen it was in his cluttered study, filled with books and strange artifacts.

As Eve delved deeper into Blackwood's world, she discovered he was more than just a writer. His research had led him down a rabbit hole of ancient civilizations and forbidden knowledge. It was clear that the manuscript held the key to something extraordinary.

Eve interviewed the estate staff, Blackwood's colleagues, and even a young historian named Ethan Carter who had been working closely with the professor. Carter seemed like a promising lead, but he had a solid alibi.

While searching Blackwood's study, Eve found a hidden compartment behind a loose panel. Inside, she discovered a secret diary filled with cryptic symbols and references to a mysterious order. It seemed Blackwood had been part of a secret society that had guarded the knowledge of the lost civilization for centuries.

The more Eve learned, the more dangerous the case became. She realized that the manuscript was not just a historical artifact, but a powerful tool that could be used for good or evil. Someone out there wanted to get their hands on it, and they were willing to do anything to stop Eve.

With each new clue, Eve found herself drawn further into a world of intrigue and danger. She had to race against time to find the manuscript before it fell into the wrong hands. But as she got closer to the truth, she realized that she might not be prepared for what she was about to discover.

My name is John Carter, and I’m a detective. During my years of work, I solved many cases, but there is one that I'll never forget. Everything began in rain that morning when a woman: Mrs. Emily Parker joins my office. She was wearing a long dark coat, and her face was full of worry.

"Detective Carter, I need your help. My grandmother's diamond necklace is missing."

I nodded and invited her to seat on my couch’s room. "Tell me all about it," I said as I pulled out my notebook.

Mrs. Parker took a deep breath and started talking: "That necklace was much valuable to my family. My grandmother gave that to my mother, and my mother gave it to me. It was, like, a historical piece of our family. But two nights ago, it disappeared from my bedroom."

"Did you saw anyone suspicious around your house?" I asked.

"Maybe ," she replied. "we had guests for dinner that night. My cousin Anna, my friend Lisa and my neighbour Mr. Thompson. They all know how much valuable the necklace is."

I began questioning the guests. First of all, I went to see Anna the cousin. She looked surprised to see me when I came.

"Detective," she stuttered, "I don't know anything about the stolen necklace."

"How did you know why I was here?" I asked.

She hesitated a moment before answering, "Well, Emily told me that. She called me this morning and told me she was going to ask for your services."

I listened carefully her, but there was something in the way she said, it that didn't sound true. "Where were you after dinner?" I asked.

"I went straight home," she said worried. "I wasn't feeling well."

Than I called Emily’s friend Lisa. She seemed pretty cheerful and let me into her house. "I just can't believe someone would steal that necklace!" she exclaimed. "Emily loves that necklace."

"Do you have any idea who might have taken it?" I asked.

"I really don't know. After dinner, I stayed and talked with Emily for a while, and then I left. But i saw Mr. Thompson walking around Emily's bedroom."

That was an interesting information. Finally, I decided to visit the neighbor, Mr. Thompson. He was a quiet man who lived alone. When I knocked on his door, he opened it very slowly.

"Detective Carter?," he said, "I know why you're here. But I didn't take the necklace."

“Where were you after the dinner?" I asked."

I stayed a bit longer to help clean up," he replied. "Then I left. But I saw Anna going back into the house after she said goodbye to everybody. She looked like she was hurry."

I now had three variant stories. One thing was sure, Anna’s story wasn't connected up with the others. Therefore I decided to go on her house again.

By the time I reached there, Anna seemed to be even more nervous. "Why are you back again, Detective?" she asked.

"I have a few more questions to ask you," I said calmly. "Mr. Thompson mentioned seeing you go back into the house after dinner. Why did you go back?"

Anna's face went red. "I. I forgot my purse," she stuttered.

"But Mrs. Parker said she found your purse in the living room the next morning," I replied. "So, what were you really doing?

Anna came fastly at the point. "Okay, fine! I took the necklace," Anna exclaimed. "I needed money, and I knew how valuable it was, but after I took it, I was scared, so I hid it in my closet."

I immediately called Mrs. Parker's number to warm her about the news. She was pleased and thanked me for all my efforts. Anna returned the necklace, and Mrs. Parker had decided to not to report the case. All she wanted was her family jewel back.

But Laura noticed the little details. The scratch marks on the polished marble floor, the broken nail on Evelyn's hand, the faint scent of expensive cologne that didn't belong to her husband. “She fell,” said Mr. Harrington, all trembling, but Laura caught him being agitated in his hands, the beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
