needs the forgiveness from the people they hurt for the sins to be atoned, carrying the emotional burden of moving on from life and not hearing clarity from the people you put through suffering would end up making you suffer long term thinking about if you have actually redeemed your sins

the victims have the perogative right to tell if someone has redeemed themselves in the problem between the two people. they are the ones who have suffered from the actions of the perpetrators and it would be extremely disrespectful and prejudiced to just have someone redeem themselves without first the victim giving them forgiveness

the perpetrator needs a good whole measure redemption not a half measured one. if the person only sees themselves as being redeemed from their perspective and not from the victims then they are not redeeming any sins of the past, they have not come face to face with their past mistakes and earning the forgiveness. this would be a flawed redemption or even a Red Dead Redemption and the person would still be morally ambiguous

the society sees two sides in a problem and are in the thick of it everybody knows and if the redemption is only seen from the perpetrator side but no forgiveness from the victims then the society would still not accept the flawed redemption of the perpetrators as there are still beef on both sides

the perpetrators being able to live in peace knowing their past has been forgiven by the victims themselves

society views both sides as mending from a broken bond

from the victim's point of view they're also burdened by the trauma or the bad blood caused by the conflict between the two people, the victims are also in NEED of giving forgiveness to let go of the past, having the victims let go of their past through forgiveness is the best way to reduce the risk of further escalation and conflict and revenge from either sides

by having forgiveness the victims will not carry revenge and can lobby for their family to not carry out any kinds of revenge as the perpetrators have redeem themselves, we want a peace that would last and not breed into more violence

the reason why forgiving is highly held in tradition and religion is because IT IS THAT IMPORTANT, ever wondered why its a tradition? because these kinds of non forgiveness is what caused conflict, civil wars and even wars in the past. it happened so much that it became tradition and its righfully so a tradition

it being dominant is actually good because then we can filter out who is actually wanting redemption and who is just saving face by SAYING they have redeemed themselves, your sides are seeing the perpetrators in too much of a good light, they're not always saints, not all people that looks like they've redeemed are actually sincerely redeeming. want proof? look at how many people that get locked up TWICE

we are not saying forgiveness ONLY is the way to be redeemed you're wrong to assume that, we are saying it is a PREREQUISITE. as in being forgiven is ONE STEP CLOSER to redemption but not as a whole.

the society wont pressure the victims to give forgiveness, with a dominant narrative on gaining forgiveness then this imposes the burden on the perpetrators on GAINING. remember the motion guys, its called gaining forgiveness

by having forgiveness be a dominant narrative then the problems you guys stated that the victims would watch their perpetrators get punished and laughing and be happy from it be healed because the dominant narrative makes it more acceptable to do forgiving and have it be celebrated for it to happen. a reward for the perpetrator's HARD PATH TO REDEMPTION.

the society where the perpetrators are having the larger hand as in more powerful and can overpower the victim is in actuality in your side. in our side we empower the victim and not overpower the perpetrator that tends to be of a more powerful caste
