The YMCA of greater Erie is also a way for members to get connected with community offerings, events and support. </p><p><br/></p><p>YMCA offers financial assistance for those individuals and families in need of support. Financial assistance is offered by a case by case basis, requiring applicants to show proof of need. </p><p><br/></p><p>The YMCA also offers childcare services and summer events for the youth. </p>]]></description>

They aim to make nutritious meals a reality for more families — regardless of your financial situation.</p><p><br/></p><p>They do 30min sessions where they counsel individuals or families on shopping healthy foods and making good food choices that are realistic and family friendly.          <description><![CDATA[<p>The&nbsp;Upward Bound program is a pre-college enrichment program&nbsp;designed to assist low-income and/or potential first-generation college students in furthering their education beyond high school.&nbsp; The program provides a number of academic services to help generate the skills and motivation necessary to be successful in high school and ultimately enroll in college.</p><p><br></p><p>Upward Bound Program helps offer assistance to students giving them access to free tutoring, standardized test prep (SAT/ACT), test waivers, college application guidance, etc.</p><p><br></p><p>There are three primary criteria for Upward Bound eligibility:</p><ol><li><p>Grades 9-12</p></li><li><p>Attend one of the participating schools</p></li><li><p>Parents did not graduate college and/or family income is within 150% of <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.gecac.org/uploads/poverty-guidelines/federal-poverty-guidelines-2024.pdf"><strong>federal poverty guidelines</strong></a></p></li></ol>]]></description>
