lily bird - I think this piece really stuck with me because of how honest it is with the person reading it. Its saying to be true to yourself but its not sugar coating it, its being completely transparent. The line "if you can bear the
accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul" stuck out to me because it shows that in order to live your happiest and most true life sometimes you're going to face people judging you and ridiculing you but you need to stay unique. "I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow" is the line that struck my chord. Its saying that vulnerability isn't a weakness and that in order to be your true self you have to tap into that emotional side and really grasp it.

Ryan Mulcahy - This is the kind of passage that makes people have existential crisis. It is so powerful it just makes you want to be the best you that you could possibly be and I think it works. Reading it made me feel really inspired and ready to take on my next set of challenges. "I want to know if you can get up, after the night of grief and despair,
weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children." This line spoke to me the most, because growing up the biggest message that was engraved into me was perseverance and so I'd say this is my favorite line in the passage.

Shane Dolezal - The line “I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.” Hit me pretty hard because when I am alone I think about how I could possibly make myself happier but when I think about it and read this excerpt a whole new perspective comes into play because no matter what you choose to do or feel, it’s all your choice.

Hayden Bray- The excerpt is very very interesting to me. It seems as though it is coming from somebody that is in a relationship or that seeks one. The author is speaking about what they expect out of their partner. I can relate to the line "I want to know if you can see beauty even when it’s not pretty, every day, and if you can source your own life from its presence", because this line speaks the truth. You should always think that your partner is beautiful even when they put no effort into it. It should be your partner's beautiful soul that you source your happiness from, not their looks in the moment.

“I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life’s betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain!” This quote from the excerpt stood out to me. The author is proposing how sorrow is taken in two different paths. -Aqil Dhukka

Camille Rome - I love this passage especially the part where the writer says "It doesn’t interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up, after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children." I think this line stuck with because its saying no matter how much money you have or how big your house is none of it matters if at the end of the day you can't push yourself to be better for the people around you.

Will Wupperman - The excerpt evoked feelings of personal connection. and the idea of finding a person's true "qualities."
"I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself."
I think this line can relate to a relationship breakup. A person must disappoint the other when they are ready to break up, and the other is not.

"It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money
you have."
In my life, I try my best to judge people based on their personality more than their physical aspects. It's important to enjoy people for the connection they give you, instead of the materials they provide.
