What need does this training fulfill, how much of it will be didactic versus engagement
Training Content: 
What is the actual content that needs to be covered, information presented, etc…

DEVELOPMENT OF THE STORY
1) What is the primary goal of the training, what do you want you learners to achieve, and how can you represent this visually?
2) What are the main conceptual elements of the training?
3) What sequential/linear order can you arrange this training? Does their need to be an order to the training? (Canvas via Prezi allows you to be much more dynamic to move across conceptual elements as the audience’s needs develop)
4) Laying it out on the WhiteBoard

CANVAS DEVELOPMENT & BRAINSTORMING
  • Post-It Notes, Paper, Marker, IDEAS!!!
  • Brianstorming. Brainstorm and develop ideas and elements onto the Post-It Notes, write or draw down everything you want to include into your training (all elements: big or small)
  • Chunking. Group like or similar ideas or concepts into smaller clusters. Condense further if needed so that only a few major elements are present (5-7 if you are doing an all day training)
  • Finding the trees. 
    • Create titles/themes for each grouping. 
    • Organize the groupings in some type of order, if any
  • Seeing the Forest. Taking a Macros view of your “trees” what is the theme of your training. What visual image do you see that captures the entire experience of your training?
  • Layout your entire story based upon your theme and image of the training.
