Fair funding. Moving toward total dollar allotments vs. position allotments that constrain small systems particularly.

High number of teaching positions filled by individuals without teaching certificates. Support more teaching apprenticeships to quickly upskill these folks.

Ditto on the CDPs! ALL students will have a career one day! (Whether they go directly into the workforce with an industry valued credential, enlist or enroll in post-secondary.) We need to shift the narrative, ALL school employees should begin intentionally discussing career pathways (early and often), students should have access to advising, increased opportunities for pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs and dual enrollment experiences.

We do not need more SROs in schools. Especially not in elementary schools. We think that that money should be used to fud community intervention workers that are able to build the bridge between schools and the community.

I am concerned about how federal funding cuts in education will affect the funding of public schools in NC. Federal funding made up 10.4% to 30.2% of North Carolina school district budgets in 2021-22. How will the state support school districts to supplement these gaps?

A truly interconnected interoperable data systems so students' k12 grades, extra curriculum, awards, honors, dual-enrolled credits, CTE credentials earned, etc...are ALL CAPTURED...

Capitalizing on the community organizations, faith based organizations, PTAs, nonprofits, and others across the state to ensure that we maximize the assets that exist within all communities within NC; it takes a village concept; resources gained can be funding, tools, human resources (volunteers, mentors, etc), etc.
