Anyway, my goal with this blog is to help you robot nerds, with art! Pretty specific ngl, but im sure a lot of you wont mind. This is the place to get info and tips on anatomy, animation, techniques and obviously mechanical art! Hope you enjoy that cupcake, it only appears once on this blog, unless you deserve it.

Ok so with the human torso, you need room to fit all the organs and bones, so it will appear more rounded and soft. Its just two overlapping circles, but the bottom circle is slightly smaller than the upper circle. But if you want to potray more fat, the bottom one will be larger.

Legs are basically just two long ovals connected to each other, and are round about the same length as the arms. Be careful with the calf muscles, as they can get annoying to draw, due to the very slight, yet noticeable triangle rise along the back, and right before a connecting tendon that holds the calf and thigh together. (Side note, tendons and connecting tissues are usually very weblike.)

Arms are usually slightly more triangular in shape but have a more streamlined appearance. I screwed up a bit in the diagram, but hey, who doesn't want a muscly character?

Hands are notoriously hard to draw, due to their complexity and lack of muscle. Heres a tip, in between the fingers are weblike connecting tissue that almost looks amphibian! alot of people overlook this feature and it makes their hands look skeletal or uncanny. The main hand are is a square with a rounded top, but the thumb is a separate thing altogether. There are 4 main joints that make up the fingers and make sure to emphasise they are joints, not just bone. I cannot stress it enough, USE YOUR OWN HANDS FOR REFRENCE! Most new artists think, "Oh I dOnT NeEd tO ReFreNCe." and they are wrong! Thank me later.

The head design makes it look like its assessing everything around it. Due to the T-Series having more freedom from the CIS Central Computer System, they would sometimes change their colours or markings to gain a sense of indivduality, and sometimes (very rarely) change gender! (This was probably due to all the actors of the series voicing a Tactical Droid).

The blocky and chunky design also allows the animators to create more robotic and calculating movements, letting viewers know these droids are not to be messed with. Unfortunetly, not all droids in the Separatist arsenal dont get the same treatment. The B1 Units, are given high pitched voices, human and organic movements, and childish (and funny) personalitys. That adding onto the scrawny, rabbitlike appearance, makes you feel bad for them, instead of being intimidated.

Another great factor of this design is in the exageration of certain features, like the chest, the mouth (beak thing???), and the bottom half of the legs, creating a design that not only perfectly potrays their overconfident, selfish and intimidating aura, but makes it stylised and great to look at.

First of all we need to discuss what this A.I is. Our design is a concept of, Allied Mastercomputer (A.M), the main antagonist of Harlean Ellisons, I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. He is not like your regular evil A.I, as he is not potrayed as cold and calculating, instead, he is unhinged and expresses his hatred for humanity, in a sadistic and gory fashion. Having destroyed planet earth and capturing 5 of the last humans, to torture for the rest of eternity, you would think he's some terrifying, creature with red eyes or something. But he doesn't have a physical body, and thats his whole thing about hating humans. Hes driven insane from envy. So fans promptly decided to create a body for him!

There are many variations of A.M mostly in a sluglike wire covered tangle with a massive tv for a head. But the one I want to discuss here is a specific design by, actually, I dont know who made this! I have been doing some digging, but all I found was the original post on pintrest, so if anyone recongnises this artist, please let me know!

Ok, on to the critique. Lets start with the good. I love the sharpness and smoothness of his features, it really matches the character! Another detail I wanted to point out is his crest that resembles an egytian pharoh, or a halo. It ties into the idea A.M that he thinks hes a god or king of sorts. The colours also add a nice touch as they add another layer of eye candy. The shadow covering one half of his face makes him very intimidating, and more geometrical. His cloak really brings the whole things together.

Now onto the bad. My main issue is that you cant really potray his fury with this design, which is like his whole character. It will just look goofy, as his body underneath the cloak looks like it could snap in half with a light gust of wind. A pet peeve of mine, is when it gives off Vivzipop energy, which you will learn I HATE. The tv on his chest is cool, but it distracts you from the main, clean geometry of the rest of his body. The wires on his legs add unnecessary detail, that can be annoying to look at.

Did I have a plan for this post? Of course not. Was this critique a bit of a mess? Definitly. Do I know how to end this? Nope.

First of all, her characters body diversty is... non existent. All her characters are toothpick thin and have a large head. Also, I know its set in hell, but I feel like demons would have a much bigger colour palatte, other than, pink, red and white. And also all the characters are built like Alastor. Dont get me started on how much I hate him. Hes so snarky and annoying, especially with the amount of fangirls that simp over his stupid bowl cut. Anyway back to my main points.

The designs also dont represent the characters very well, even though thats the whole point of character design. Ok, take My Little Pony. The character designs are actually fantastic in this show, as you tell what kind of person which member of the Mane Six are! Rainbow Dash is wild and fearless, Fluttershy is shy but very kind and Pinky Pie, is fun loving and cheery. You can automatically tell this just by looking at the ponies, and it also allows the writers to add more to the characters, without them loosing their original charm.

But with, say, Beelzabub, the sin of gluttony, you have to be physically told, who she is, due to her design being so far from who she is. The feeble excuse that her stomach is made of plasma, meaning she can eat as much as she wants, cant really hold much merit, because you cant actually tell that its plasma in the first place. Her design also gives off, athletic, and preppy, which is kind of the opposite of gluttony.

Also, Angel Dust, is supposed to be a spider??? She could have at least added fangs or something.

The problem with the main cast of your show all looking the same, is that they become flat, and two dimensional. You cant add to their character without them becoming a burden to the viewers.

There are also some... allegations, that I cant cover because of their inappropriate nature. Long story short, the writer of an abuse victim, has a thing for noncon. Shes also a proud zoo, which is something you should not be proud about.

Her writing is very predictable, and boring. Vivzie clearly does not know what shes doing. The worldbuilding is practically non existent, so you cant really connect to the struggles of each character, as they heavily rely on the world their in.

A tip for anyone who wants to make a mature show, dont act like a emo furry tween.
