During his time as ruler he rewrote the roman law called the Corpus  juris civilis or Justinian Code. He died at age 83 in 565. Augustus Caesar was the first emperor of the roman empire. Augustus reign brought upon a time of peace known as the Pax Romana. Caesar made peace with the Parthinan Empire with the use of diplomacy. He reformed the Roman system taxation, created roads, and made an army called the Praetorian Guard, all with his official courier's. Marcus Aurelius ruled as co emperor of Rome until his partner Versus died in 169. Marcus Aurelius went on to serve Rome as emperor for 19 years. . Marcus was considered to be the last of the 5 good emperors. As emperor one of the things he did or accomplished  was defeat and revitalize the Parthinan empire. Marcus Aurelius practiced Stoicism and wrote untitled books commonly known as meditations. He also lost his body in battle this is all that is left.
