Where it began to unlock old memories from my childhood when I would spend hours playing it, trying my best to align each block perfectly. Creating this animated piece was challenging for me at first because I wanted to make the animation feel as authentic as the original game itself sticking to the limited shapes and sizes that Tetris uses. The letter T that you can see was created using individual grains of Tea to create one big letter. One of my favourite hobbies is swimming, to link this with my letter I decided to focus on pool tiles. I began with creating my tile shape, choosing a slanting rectangle to imitate the italic font style of my letter.
When I started animating it, I wanted to use a motion that would allow me to create the same characteristics and flow of water. Using vibrations and springs to create a wave motion. The letter takes on two styles, shifting from Uppercase to Lowercase, for this transition I  created a splash effect.

I was always fascinated by the way in which screens were able to create amazing images and colours by only using individual pixels.
In terms of the animation I wanted it to mirror the trademark side to side effect analouge TVs would display when they were on.

I started with vectorising any photos and sketches into a digital format which is what I work best with.
