I was uncertain of how this book would end when i just started reading it.The suspense is what makes this book so interesting. Jem had a special gift but to her it was nothing but a curse. She felt like she didn't fit in anywhere and she knew that is she ever spoke the truth about her life no-one would believe her so she was always a conceited person. Jem felt abandoned by her mom. Ever since the death of her mom she has being living on edge fearlessly, recklessly and carelessly. Jem felt something that she had never felt before with spider; love.I thought this book would've had a fairytale ending but then it took an unexpected turn and something tragic happened. Spider died. Even though such a tragic event took place, Jem found herself and she found out that she was having a baby. Jem didn't feel like she belonged anywhere that people were. She hated seeing people's death dates so she kept away from everyone.
