I chose this image, because it represents aggrandizing for power in English Politics. My personal definition is To get stronger;to gain more power, or increase my mental, physical, or emotional status. My synonyms for this word are Distinguish, Boost, Applaud, and  Augment.

It is about a camp follower who turned into a knight. I feel that is aggrandizing, because he increases his power and status.

He was a Roman Consul who was advanced into one of the greatest generals known to man. He gained land for Rome and he gained power, status, and wealth.

The quote is “When the Japanese mend broken objects, they aggrandize the damage by filling the cracks with gold. They believe that when something's suffered damage and has a history it becomes more beautiful.” It tells me how the Japanese aggrandize by making something which might have been less valuable more valuable.
