         <description><![CDATA[<div>- V. good to depict the changes in real use of coal with events and narrative changes, e.g. Germany example.&nbsp;<br>- Explore role of EU influencing the transition pathways - But also it can have double-meaning, e.g. but saying 'the responsibility is from somebody else'.&nbsp;<br>- So the main transition is not about changing the 'energy basis' but about changing the RELATIONSHIPS and self-perception of the regional actors in relationships to their own development, from 'waiting the change to come from outside to being the change'.&nbsp;<br>- It would be interesting to explore how 'the narrative of inevitability' -both negative or positive' evolve over time.&nbsp;<br>Temporal dimension in the change of narratives<br><br>E.g. narratives - heritage from the past for the narratives: Post-war growth and reconstruction thanks to coal, but started to change in the 60ss - e.g., no competitive, 'efficient coal' to Green Capital. 'End of coal policy' 2005 and end of subsides as trigger.<br><br>Changes in industrial identities (e.g., Greek and Italian CS)<br>History of energy dependence from coal<br>Formal, functional, and perceptual boundaries do not necessary define the same boundaries<br>Narration of inevitability from SH with power (e.g., both in Italy and Germany)<br>Divergent narrative from the locals (e.g., both in Italy and Germany)<br>Closure of coal mining - Role of EU can be dueal too by saying that it is ' a responsibility of someone else' - <br>Necessity to map the position of actors along the carbon lock-in -decarbonization continuum and their rationale</div>]]></description>
