After watching the handle videos I loved the coal method to get that half circle shape. We printed out the lettering for the Piston Cup and traced it on a piece of paper to almost stamp the clay. We made sure that the slab was rolled out thin because of all the extra detail cut outs we were gonna do. I used an exacto knife to cut the letters and side details out before attaching it to the front. We then slip and lightly scored both the mug and the detailed slab and rolled the slab on with the end of a paint brush. I sealed the sides off to make sure the slip would attach the two pieces. To clean it up I had to make sure the clay was dry so I waited 2 days.
