         <description><![CDATA[<div>Conflict Motivation Theories:<br><br><strong>Approach</strong>-<strong>Approach</strong> <strong>conflict</strong>: occurs when you must choose between two desirable outcomes<br>(Example: Hit the gym or workout at home)<br><br><strong>Avoidance</strong>-<strong>Avoidance</strong> <strong>conflict</strong>: occurs when you must choose between two unattractive outcomes<br><br><strong>Approach</strong>-<strong>Avoidance</strong> conflict: exists when one event or goal has both attractive and unattractive features<br>(Example: Drinking milk is good, but not good for my stomach) <br><br><strong>Multiple</strong> <strong>Approach</strong>-<strong>Avoidance</strong> conflict: here you must choose between two or more things, each of which has both desirable and undesirable features<br>(Example: Choosing between a healthy dessert and unhealthy dessert)<br><br><strong>James</strong>-<strong>Lange</strong> <strong>Theory</strong>: The arousal comes before the emotion<br><br><strong>Cannon</strong>-<strong>Bard</strong> <strong>Theory</strong>: The arousal comes at the same times as the emotion<br><br><strong>Schachter</strong>-<strong>Singer</strong> <strong>Theory</strong>: Arousal paired with a cognitive label, then the emotion.<br><br><strong>Opponent</strong> <strong>Process</strong> <strong>Theory</strong>: Emotions are in pairs (fear/relief; pleasure/pain, depression/elation)</div>]]></description>
