In this video I was able to see and hear about what the brain and skin receptors do to keep the human body alive while enduring extreme heat. After the skin reaches a certain temperature, receptors send signals to the brain to control the temperature of the body. This is why we sweat. Sweat is a natural response to heat and a method of cooling off the human body. I was unaware that the brain had anything to do with sweating and enjoyed learning about how my skin and brain could help me survive extreme weather...After all, it is 80 degrees in January in Georgia!

Why are there so many fatalities due to extreme heat after only a few hours when the 2 people in the video survived for 8 days if the skin and brain are capable of keeping the body alive? and can these same skin receptors send different signals to the brain during extremely cold conditions?
