2. Policies for accepting/penalizing late work should be consistent
3. I don't think that a policy should exist that ties all grade levels 7-12. 9-12 would be more appropriate.
4. Guidelines placed on extra credit. Should never be the deciding factor between passing/failing, or there shouldn't be a case where enough E.C. can have a HUGE impact on their grade.
5. For high school, Final Exams should be weighted far more than 10% to better prepare students for college as well as increase student investment.

Five Norms for Grading

1. Retakes should not be the norm. Should be a case by case basis, as in to revise an essay to learn and improve, not to retake a test just to retake.
2. ESS grades should be under the ESS teacher if they service the student fully and/or be aligned to standards and students' IEP goals to show growth.
3. Grades should reflect progress towards mastery, not participation.
4. Clear communication of what grades represent to all stakeholders.
5. Finals should be common assessments at all levels to demonstrate common mastery and preparedness for the students' next level of education (high school, college, etc.)
