At least, until she visits her brother's grave and finds something she shouldn't have. It's called The Gravedigger's Handbook, and its her first act of book thievery. But this isn't the time for stealing. And after her foster family shelters a Jewish man in their basement, there is no telling what will happen.
My Recommendation: The Book Thief presents the amazing concept of finding books in a world without reading and presents several serious issues during the holocaust. A unique piece of literary fiction, I strongly recommend this to those who enjoy learning about the experiences of others~not just Jews, but the German citizens who fought for them.

This book isn't highly advanced but it definitely gives the reader a great experience, even when you're feeling down.
