Croesus was the last king of Lydia, reigning from 560 to 546 B.C. Croesus is credited with the invention of money, which obviously made him very wealthy. This makes him an entrepreneur as he ran a large business of trade.

He is often considered the richest American of all time and was the top entrepreneur when he was alive. He and many other entrepreneurs at the time were a large reason the Progressive movement started (monopolies and government corruption.)
