While reading this news article I came to know about the seriousness of this issue , I used to believe that this is just farmer issue but Between 1993 and 2010, excessive groundwater extraction caused the Earth's poles to shift towards the east at a rate of 4.36 centimetres per year. Humans extracted approximately 2,150 gigatons of groundwater during this period, leading to a polar shift of 80 centimetres towards the east. This shift has implications for global sea level rise and highlights the need for sustainable management of groundwater resources. The study emphasizes that the redistribution of groundwater is the largest contributor to the drift of the rotational pole. The language used in the article is scientific and technical, presenting information based on research and analysis. The article draws from various sources, including research papers, reports, and interviews, to provide a comprehensive understanding of the issue. This makes it a good source of information as it is based on credible and reliable sources.
